PRINCE OF PERSIA 2022 : Official Gameplay Trailer

Why Prince of Persia is famous?

The original Prince of Persia, with its more than 20 platform ports, is one of the most ported games in video game history. Mechner enrolled in New York University’s film department, producing an award-winning short film during his time there, before returning to design and direct a sequel to the original game.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake transferred to Montréal studio

Prince of Persia remake no longer made in India as Ubisoft looks at Montréal to deliver the best game experience

Issues related to the pandemic forced Ubisoft to push The Sands of Time release by a couple of months before it decided to delay the release indefinitely.

Ubisoft has announced moving the development of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake to its Montréal, Canada studio after months without any update and inordinate delays. Ubisoft is not looking to release the game in the 2023 fiscal year. The game has been in the works at Ubisoft’s Mumbai and Pune studios since 2020.

“The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montréal, the very birth place of the epic Sands of Time trilogy,” Ubisoft said in its initial announcement on Twitter.
“This decision is an important step and the team, building on the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.”

The Sands of Time remake is the first significant title developed by Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune studios. Ubisoft didn’t elaborate on the studio switch.

“We’re proud of the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Montreal will benefit from their learnings as the new team will continue the work to deliver a great remake,” Ubisoft spokesperson Antoine Leduc-Labelle said in a statement to The Verge. “As such, we are no longer targeting a FY23 release anymore. Players will be updated on the project as the development is moving along.”

The Sands of Time remake is a remastering, not a reskin, created on Ubisoft’s AnvilNext engine. It was originally scheduled for January 2021 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. No news on X/S or PS5 optimization.

Due to pandemic-related concerns, Ubisoft delayed The Sands of Time’s release by a few months before deciding to postpone it forever. The game’s latest update came in October of last year, reassuring fans that creators were still working on it.

Prince of Persia Review

The Prince of Persia series is filled with classic titles, but some aren’t as well received. Here’s how they all rank.

The Prince of Persia series goes all the way back in 1989, and has had a further ten releases since. The series is best recognized today for its action-adventure gameplay; however, back in the late 80s and early 90s, it was known for inspiring the cinematic platforming genre.
In 2003, Ubisoft took over the franchise and released Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. They found a way to blend the platforming genre, which was beginning to wither due to a lack of innovation around that time, with the thriving action-adventure genre. Although games like Sands of Time and the original Prince of Persia are classics, it’s fair to say that not every game in the series has reached such heights.

Updated July 20th, 2021, by Jack Pursey: To a chorus of moans and groans, it was recently announced that the highly anticipated Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake had been delayed once again. Of course, it’s always better for a game to be delayed until it’s ready; however, the news still understandably disappointed fans of the franchise. So, to give fans of an idea of what to play in the meantime, we’ve updated this list to include key details for each game.

Who was the real Prince of Persia?

This stunning novel brings to life the enthralling world of Cyrus the Great, the leader of Ancient Persia – the world’s first great empire and the life and times of Cyrus himself, a magnificent leader whose passion won the hearts of his subjects and of two extraordinary women – the wildly beautiful warrior Roshan and the exquisite Cassadane.

I am Cyrus: The Story of the Real Prince of Persia

Cyrus’s vision, extraordinarily ahead of its time, of a society where religious tolerance could and should prevail inspired the foundation of his fabulous empire, yet he was ruthless in his conquests, as Ancient Lydia and the fabled city of Babylon – the richest city in the world – fell to him.

The book features an emotional love story, as well as riveting battle scenes, and is written with an energy and passion that infuse every page.

I am Cyrus brings history alive as few other novels do, and is full of action, passion, comedy, tragedy and inspiration, and its theme that true co-operation between people is only won through tolerance, is profoundly relevant to our own times.

I am Cyrus is a story that has been close to Alexander Jovy’s heart for many years, he recalls his father telling him about ancient Persia and the mysteries it holds. As Alex says: ‘I was fascinated even then how such an early civilization could have achieved so much and be so unknown to our modern world.’

Alex has spent many years researching the story of Cyrus the Great. I am Cyrus is at heart a story of historical fact though it uses imaginative elements to fill in the inevitable gaps in what is known.

Is Prince of Persia free?

Game developer Ubisoft is offering the classic title free of charge for PC gamers today, as long as they create an account and use its Uplay software.

Is Prince of Persia Sands of Time based on a true story?

Nope. Though the creator – Jordan Mechner could have had inspiration from some prince/kings.

Is Prince of Persia suitable for kids?

Parents need to know that this fantasy adventure — based on a popular, teen-rated video game — is high on action, but relatively low on anything else potentially objectionable for young teens (though, like many big action movies, the marketing targets kids too young for this kind of action).
