Fighting raid and field bosses in Lost Ark has numerous benefits. In particular, Tarsila is a field boss that gives you the fourth Giant’s Heart. If you are looking to complete all your collections, getting Giant’s Hearts will likely be on your to-do list too. This guide will teach you how to find and defeat Tarsila in Lost Ark.
Lost Ark: How to Find and Defeat Tarsila
In Lost Ark, Tarsila is a large spider that spawns in the Lake Eternity region of Shushire. The easiest way to access the area is by sailing or using an ocean liner to reach Shushire, then using the Nest Hill Triport before heading north to the Spider Queen’s Lair. The image above shows Tarsila’s spawn location.
Additionally, each field boss spawns at pre-determined times and dates on each server. Every field boss raid starts simultaneously, and they cycle every 2-3 days.
Lastly, you must have the required item level or “ilevel” to participate in the raid. For Tarsila, your item level must be at least 380 or else any contributions you make will not count towards the raid. You can check your item level by accessing your Character Profile.
Once you have met the item level requirement, head to Lake Eternity. Once the timer reaches zero, Tarsila will spawn. Since the field boss has several million health points, you’ll want to make sure other players are around to help defeat it. While you are not required to join a group, you’ll often find other players asking to join parties to fight the boss. If you do not see other players around, you can try to join a busier channel through the drop-down menu on the top-right corner of your game screen.
How you contribute to defeating Tarsila will depend on your class. For example, if you are a ranged damage dealer such as a Sorceress or Sharpshooter, you’ll want to stay in the backline. Similarly, if you are a melee or tankier class, you’ll be on the frontlines dealing close-range damage. While Tarsila is one of the easier field bosses to defeat than those you’ll encounter later in the game, she still has a mix of area-of-effect and charge attacks to avoid.
Lost Ark Tarsila location
The Yellow mark marks the spot of Tarsila’s spawn location.
Like all other Lost Ark end game community events, Tarsila is on a spawn timer. Tarsila’s spawn time entirely depends on the scheduling on the day-to-day on your server region. She may spawn at 2 am server time, or become active at 9 pm server time ready for peak hours gamers.
The best way to check when Tarsila is up is to open the calendar in the top left of the UI, presuming you are level 50 anyway. Then you can click on a day more appropriate for you, head over to the Field Boss tab and press the drop-down menu. There you can see when the boss spawns on that day. Alternatively, if you know where the Lost Ark Tarsila location is already, you can visit the area and see a countdown on exactly where she spawns.
For those curious, you can find the exact Lost Ark Tarsila location in the image above, marked by the orange pin. Note she spawns in the Spider Queen’s Lair, which is in the Lake Eternity region of Shushire. Also, when she spawns, you need 380 ilvl, otherwise non of your attacks register. It means you cannot get loot as you technically have no-kill credit.

Now onto actually defeating this boss. There is nothing too tricky about Tarsila, other than the fact she has a few directional, AOE and the usual don’t stand in the bad stuff mechanics. Below is a list of the Tarsila tactics you need to be aware of.
Strikes directly in front of her with her claws. Her animation postures backwards a bit, so try to avoid being at the front of her when this happens.
She slams her body into the ground. A red circle appears under her model, giving players the chance to escape the crushing blow.
She charges in the direction of a random player. Avoid her charge direction with the usual charge mechanic indicators.
Tarsila moves backwards and charges an attack. She then advances forward and slams her claws into the ground, sending a dark projectile forward. Avoid standing in front of her or facing her when she does this as the projectile hits very hard and is very fast-moving.
Falling Rocks – Rocks fall from the cave roof of the Spider Queen’s Lair. Avoid the red circles throughout the cave to avoid unnecessary boulders landing on your head.
Pounce – She chooses an area to pounce at, so don’t stand in the large red circle. Otherwise, she will pounce on you and likely kill you.
Cone breath – She fires icy breath in a cone at a distant player. The ability ticks several times and freezes players caught in ice. Dodge it the first time otherwise you’ll likely die unless some hero Paladin, Bard, or Gunlancer heal or shield you.
Icy fog – At lower HP Tarsila can leave behind patches of icy fog that temporarily freeze players and deal moderate damage each second. These typically spawn during her charge and pounce skills.
Lost Ark, being a free-to-play MMO, has a few advantages to offer players who are willing to spend real-world money.
Path of Exile isn’t as flashy as either Lost Ark or Diablo 3, but it’s unmatched when it comes to character progression, and also has the most engaging loot system of the three. Ultimately, the decision comes down to how familiar you are with ARPGs, and what kind of experience you want to get out of them.
Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG bring the new free-to-play, massively multiplayer online action role-playing game to customers, reaching over 1.325 million concurrent players.
“From the earliest days of Lost Ark’s announcement in the West, we heard players’ feedback about gender-locked classes loud and clear,” the studio said. “While not every class in the game currently has a male and female counterpart available, we wanted to be sure to include those that do early on.”
