How To Get Darth Vader’s Lightsaber In Fortnite

Darth Vader was apparently sick and tired of being trapped in Fortnite’s Battle Pass and is now waging war against all players. In a new update to the battle royale game, the Sith Lord is unleashed and he won’t hesitate to take you down, but if you can take him out first, you’ll get his lightsaber as a reward.

Vader appears in random places each match but is easy to locate since he arrives at the island at the same time as the players. When you are in the Battle Bus, look for an Imperial Shuttle. It’ll enter the airspace just above the clouds and will quickly descend to a spot on the map. The Shuttle is highlighted with a blue glow for a few seconds after settling down on the surface.

Vader is one of the toughest bosses in the game and will take some serious firepower to take out. He’s also flanked by two stormtroopers. He uses the Force in a variety of ways to mess with you and can block your shots. Your best bet is to attack him from afar with a sniper rifle or approach in a group.

His lightsaber is a game-changer. You too can block shots with it, and it can also be thrown a decent distance to inflict big damage. Of course, you can swing it widely for melee strikes. We don’t know how long Vader will be around or how he is influencing the story, but it’s awesome to see him on the island dishing out punishment. Here’s hoping more Star Wars integration is on the way soon!

How To Defeat Darth Vader and claim his lightsaber in Fortnite?

Fortnite’s latest update lets you use Darth Vader’s lightsaber, but you’ll have to defeat him first.

Epic’s insanely popular battle royale has gotten yet another update, and it’s one that’s sure to please Star Wars fans. Since Fortnite’s release, we’ve seen all manner of characters from other games added to the free-to-play title, including Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as well as fortune hunters Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer from the Uncharted series.

Fortnite’s latest update, 21.20, is being rolled out today and adds new content for Chapter 3 Season 3, most notably, Darth Vader. That’s right, the Sith Lord himself has touched down on the island. According to the patch notes(opens in new tab), Darth Vader will appear at a specific spot each match with his Stormtroopers in tow. Defeating the iconic Star Wars villain won’t be easy, but if you do, you can then grab his lightsaber as a reward.

The Sith Lord’s weapon will be very useful in your bid to be the last one standing. “With Darth Vader’s Lightsaber, block incoming fire, throw it boomerang-style at enemies, and of course, swing it at those who get in your way,” says Epic.

Keeping with the Star Wars theme, E-11 Blasters are making a return. You can find them in Imperial Chests at Vader landing sites or simply nab them from the Stormtroopers you take down. According to prominent Fortnite leaker Shiina, following the update, chests containing lightsabers will also be available.

Last month, the worlds of Fortnite and Star Wars also collided with the launch of an Obi-Wan Kenobi cosmetic bundle, allowing you to get in on the action while looking every bit like the Jedi Master.

Where to find Darth Vader on the Fortnite map

Darth Vader will spawn at a random location on the Fortnite map at the beginning of each match, but you can easily track him by waiting in the Battle Bus until a large spaceship passes you by.

As soon as this happens, leave the Battle Bus and follow it down to the ground. The spaceship won’t be marked on the map but you’ll be able to spot it from a distance as a blue light will emit from it.

Be careful when you land, as Darth Vader will also be accompanied by two Stormtroopers who will also attack you on sight, so there are actually three enemies to worry about this time around.

How to defeat Darth Vader in Fortnite

Like all boss fights in Fortnite, defeating Darth Vader isn’t going to be easy. He has two huge bars of health to get through as well as some intense attack patterns including using the force to stop you escaping.

The best approach is to land nearby, find a weapon, then sneakily use it to take out the Stormtroopers. Then, you can steal their E-11 Blaster Rifle, which is a powerful laser gun that has unlimited ammo.

This is the perfect weapon to defeat Darth Vader, especially as you don’t have to worry about running out of ammo. Aim for the head, while also making sure you have cover nearby if things get overwhelming.

We found it easier to defeat Darth Vader when he was already distracted by another player. This meant we had free reign to unload bullets, get his health down, then quickly grab his Lightsaber.

Once you’ve defeated Darth Vader, he’ll drop his Lightsaber. This weapon works in a similar way to ordinary Lightsabers in the game, letting you dish out melee damage and also block incoming bullets.

How to block hits using a Lightsaber in Fortnite

To block hits using a Lightsaber in Fortnite you have to hold down the same button you use to aim down the sights of a gun. On consoles this is defaulted to L2/LT, and on PC this is the right mouse button. This button activates a defensive animation which blocks hits from any normal incoming bullets and blaster fire.

After finding a Lightsaber in Fortnite, you’ll need somebody to fire at you in order to block their hits ten times. If you’re struggling to find an opponent, blocking hits from IO Guards and hostile characters also count toward completing the May the 4th challenge. There are plenty of IO guards located at Command Cavern, and wherever the current battle between The Seven and The IO is currently taking place. As of writing, the two sides are currently fighting in the fields just east of Tilted Towers. Be careful if going up against an opponent with.
