Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass – Wave 5: New Cups, Courses, and Racers

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is about to get a massive expansion with the release of Booster Course Pass – Wave 5 on July 12, 2023. This new expansion will feature a range of new cups, courses, and special racers. The Booster Course Pass – Wave 5 is the largest expansion for the game yet, and it includes a number of fresh tracks from Mario Kart Tour joining an all-star lineup from past games, along with a totally original Deluxe track called Squeaky Clean Sprint.

Wave 5 will also see the return of three classic racers: Kamek, Petey Piranha, and Wiggler. The newly-announced cups and their respective tracks are as follows:

Booster Course Pass – Wave 5

Feather Cup

– Athens Dash (Mario Kart Tour)

– Daisy Cruiser (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!)

– Moonview Highway (Mario Kart Wii)

– Squeaky Clean Sprint (New)

Cherry Cup

– Los Angeles Laps (Mario Kart Tour)

– Sunset Wilds (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)

– Koopa Cape (Mario Kart Wii)

– Vancouver Velocity (Mario Kart Tour)

The inclusion of so many Mario Kart Tour tracks in this bundle is a fantastic choice, as these are courses that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players are less likely to be familiar with, given their origins in the mobile game. This means that each track will feel like a fresh inclusion. The debuting track, Squeaky Clean Sprint, looks like a lot of fun, featuring players racing around a bathtub and its surrounds. This track is an exciting addition to the game and is sure to be a hit with fans.

Booster Course Pass – Wave 5

Wave 5 is part of the Booster Course Pass, which costs $24.99 and grants access to a massively expanded set of courses and characters released in waves 1 through 5. The content is also available free of extra charge to players who have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

Returning courses Athens Dash (Mario Kart Tour), Daisy Cruiser (Mario Kart Double Dash), and Moonview Highway (Mario Kart Wii) are included in Wave 5’s Feather Cup championship. The final four courses that make up the new Cherry Cup are Los Angeles Laps (Mario Kart Tour), Sunset Wilds (Mario Kart Super Circuit), Koopa Cape (Mario Kart Wii), and Vancouver Velocity (Mario Kart Tour).

The courses and characters to be included in the upcoming sixth and final wave of Booster Course Pass DLC have yet to be revealed but are expected to drop later in 2023.
