Soloist Lisa trends worldwide as Blackpink star finally drops teasers for Lalisa

The Lalisa era begins with Lisa’s solo album finally getting a release date after YG releases teasers

Looks like the wait has been worth it. As of yesterday, August 25, the Lalisa era begins. After hinting that Blackpink’s Lisa would be going solo for months, her label YG Entertainment finally started dropping teasers. We first got a blurred image three days ago with Lisa in the spotlight. All we could see was her signature blonde bangs and red thigh-high boots. But we are finally getting more information.

On August 25, Lisa dropped another teaser image that had fans trending ‘Soloist Lisa’ worldwide. In the teaser, she is sporting a red cutout outfit with puffed sleeves and long pigtails. It should also be noted that the outfit is printed with oriental amoeba motifs as a nod to her home, Thailand. That’s not all, she has also used her Thai name Lalisa as the title of her first album.

Soloist Lisa

‘Lalisa’ happens to be Lisa’s first single album as she launches her solo career. She is the third Blackpink member to go solo after Jennie in 2018 and Rosé in March 2021. After the success of Rosé’s solo single album ‘R’, YG teased that the remaining members would also go solo starting with the maknae (youngest) of the group, Lisa. And it looks like the oldest of the group, Jisoo might be going solo last, after her acting debut with the K-drama ‘Snowdrop’.

Blinks and Lilies are also excited as after weeks of begging for proper promotion of Lisa’s solo, we’ve also been graced with a confirmed release date. ‘Lalisa’ will be released on September 10 at 1 pm KST (12 am ET). It will be available on all major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn and more.

YG’s Naver press release also stated that they would be focusing on Lisa’s girl crush charms along with her powerful rap and dance moves paired with a dreamy yet beautiful look. Additionally, for those who were worried, we will also be getting a music video. Back in July, reports came in that Lisa had supposedly begun filming for a music video. Fans put two and two together and concluded that it must be for her solo debut.

Later on, YG themselves confirmed that Lisa was indeed filming for her solo debut music video. Additionally, regular collaborator and choreographer Cheshir Ha gave more hints on her Instagram. Lisa is often seen dancing to her choreography in her YouTube dance project ‘LiLi Film’. But this time Cheshir hasn’t participated which has fans wondering if Lisa herself choreographed her debut lead single.

Other than K-pop fans, it looks like other industries are also hyped for Lisa’ solo debut as we saw the likes of HBO to MTV post about the release. The Thai issues of fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, GQ, L’Officiel and Mint Mag including Marie Claire Taiwan all proudly tweeted about the Thai idol. Other Thai idols like CLC’s Sorn and (G)I-DLE’s Minnie also supported her on Instagram. Lisa also broke a Facebook record by having the fastest K-pop solo poster to reach 1M likes in just under 9 hours. Several fans also noticed that since the release of her latest teaser, YG’s stocks had reached a new high since 2012 and peaked at 63.3k won on August 26.

LISA really made everyone moved for her solo ? from facebook to hbo, music and radio stations! She’s all over the news in different industries and platforms! She is truly the MAIN EVENT. The most anticipated solo ever!
