Elden Ring Merchant Guide: Limgrave, Nomadic, Paranoid & Friendly Merchants

The world of Elden Ring is chocked full of nomadic merchants that each have their own unique inventory to sell you. Since the game doesn’t make these guys when you find them and doesn’t offer any way for you to mark their location yourself, it can be a bit tricky trying to find them all, let alone keep tabs on them. That’s where we come in. We’ve put together the location of a lot of the merchants in the first region of the game, Limgrave, as well as what they sell, you won’t pull your hair out trying to find that weapon or armor you’re missing.

Elden Ring Paranoid Nomadic Merchant (Beach)

This guy is hanging out right near the first point of grace you come to outside of the prologue. You’ll need to find your way down to the beach by walking along the cliff edge and then tracing it back along the beach. You should come across him perched beneath a giant slab with his horse, and he’s a little bit on edge about it.

What does the Paranoid Nomadic Merchant sell?

Here’s the breakdown of what this paranoid boy is selling. There’s a decent selection considering how early in the game you’re meeting him. A bunch of useful neutralizing items if you feel like taking on that poison area inside the tutorial cave. Either way, you should at least aim to buy the cookbook.

What Does Each Merchant Sell in Elden Ring?

While some merchants will have items in common, a few other items can only be acquired from specific merchants in Elden Ring. To help you find what it is that you actually need for the rest of your journey, we’ve delved into what each merchant across The Lands Between has available for sale.

How to find the Friendly Nomadic Merchant

This guy can be a bit tricky to find. The easiest way is to follow the main path of the forest (if you can avoid the megabears) until you come across a message lying on the ground. It should read “open for business” which is a sign to look out for the merchant’s fireplace just in the treeline. Be careful as you go hunting, there are demihumans all over the place in the area near the merchant and they’re not afraid to attack you while you’re shopping.

Nomadic Merchants

Twin Maiden Husks

Twin Maiden Husks are one of the earlier merchants that you’ll meet after Melina grants you access to Roundtable Hold. The pair wield a staff and will never relocate elsewhere.

Patches

When you venture into Murkwater Cave in Limgrave, you’ll end up fighting with a boss known as Patches. However, you get given the opportunity to forgive him. Do this, and he will then become an available merchant to trade with at the Scenic Isle Site of Grace. After this, he can then be located in Volcano Manor.

Sorcerer Rogier

You will likely meet Sorcerer Rogier as you navigate around Stormveil Castle prior to facing Godrick the Grafted. He wears a large hat and can be found by the altar in the chapel. Once you eventually face and fell Godrick, Sorcerer Rogier will relocate to Roundtable Hold.

Blacksmith Hewg

Blacksmith Hewg is located at Roundtable Hold, and he will never move from this location.

Roderika

Roderika is initially found, cloaked in red, in Stormhill Shack. After completing her quest line, which requires you to locate Chrysalid’s Memento and return it to her, she will then move to Roundtable Hold.

Sorceress Sellen

Sorceress Sellen can be found at Waypoint Ruins, standing by a chest, in West Limgrave. To actually locate her, you will need to succesfully make your way through the dungeon and defeat Mad Pumpkin Head and reach the Waypoint Ruins Cellar Site of Grace.

Miriel, Pastor of Vows

Miriel, Pastor of Vows is a little different to the other merchants you might’ve already come across in Elden Ring. This is because they are an enormous turtle sporting a mitre, which makes sense, given that they are a pastor. This merchant can be found at the Church of Vows in Liurna of the Lakes.

Elden Ring Merchant Types

With a few exceptions, FromSoftware break down the game’s traveling Merchants into three types (Nomadic, Isolated, Hermit), although there is very little difference between each.

So, below are the locations of every Merchant in Elden Ring, listed by region. Note that we won’t be including named NPC Merchants who are likely to be involved in quests and/or change location.

And if you want to find every Site of Grace along the way to make fast traveling easier, follow our guide to locate them all!

Limgrave

  • Merchant Kalé (Church of Elleh) – Telescope; Crafting Kit; Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook (1); Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook (2); Torch; Large Leather Shield; Chain Armor Set
  • Nomadic Merchant (West Limgrave) – Armorer’s Cookbook (2); Shortbow; Broadsword; Iron Roundshield; Club
  • Nomadic Merchant (East Limgrave) – Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook (5); Armorer’s Cookbook (3); St. Trina’s Arrow; Handaxe; Riveted Wooden Shield; Blue-Gold Kite Shield
  • Nomadic Merchant (North Limgrave) – Cracked Pot; Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook (3); Short Sword; Halberd; Bandit Mask

And that’s everything you need to know about the traveling Elden Ring Merchants trading around the world of Elden Ring.

How many merchants are in Elden Ring?

We’ve found twelve travelling nomadic merchants around Elden Ring and the Lands Between, though this is discounting all the special NPCs who sell other items like Patches, Rogier, Brother Coryhn and Iji the Blacksmith.

Can you sell items Elden Ring?

Selling an Ashes of War in Elden Ring is pretty simple. If you have the Ashes of War with you, go to any Merchant in Lands Between (preferably to Merchant Kale as he is the easiest Merchant to reach). Interact with them. You will get multiple options of which Sell will be one of them.

Can you upgrade armor in Elden Ring?

Unfortunately, Elden Ring doesn’t contain the ability to upgrade Armour. The Armour Sets you find throughout the open world will always have the same stats. However, if you do want to boost your defensive capabilities, you can upgrade Shields.

Will Elden Ring have a map?

Unlike with other games, in Elden Ring you have access to the map from the very beginning. Though the details on it will be “locked”. You will only see major roads and points of interest will be marked on it as you discover them.
