Travis Hunter heads to Jackson State and Coach Prime. Top football recruit will play for head coach Deion Sanders

Travis Hunter, Top football recruit will play for head coach Deion Sanders

Top football recruit Travis Hunter de-commits from FSU and heads to Jackson State and Coach Prime

One of the nation’s top high school football recruits, Travis Hunter, will no longer be a Seminole in the Fall. Hunter announced his commitment to jackson state university football this afternoon, where he will play for head coach Deion Sanders.

Sanders was a two-time consensus All-American cornerback when he played for Florida State University from 1985-1988.

Hunter made the announcement alongside his teammates at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia. Since March 2020, Hunter has been committed to Florida State University and remained committed until his announcement. The moves comes as a shock, as Hunter had remained in Florida State’s recruiting class despite interest from the University of Georgia, located in his home state.

He immediately becomes the most highly touted recruit in Jackson State’s 2022 class and will be considered one of the most talented recruits to ever commit to a historically black college or university.

In an announcement on his Twitter account, Hunter acknowledged that Florida State has “always been a beacon” for him, but said his future is at Jackson State. He also referenced football stars that played their college football at HBCU’s, including Jerry Rice, Doug Williams, and Walter Payton (who played at Jackson State from 1971 to 1974).

Why did Travis Hunter flip?

The nation’s top recruit had been committed to the Seminoles since March 2020 but instead pulled off the biggest shocker of the modern recruiting era.

Hunter is a five-star cornerback from Georgia who committed to FSU in March 2020, a few months into the Mike Norvell era. He is the unquestioned alpha of a recruiting class that entered Wednesday’s national signing day on the cusp of the top 10.

Florida State Fans Are in SHAMBLES and Blaming Barstool for Travis Hunter Going to Jackson State

Holy shit, these people are absolutely out of their minds.

Florida State fans are losing it after No. 1 recruit Travis Hunter de-committed from FSU and signed with Deion Sanders and Jackson State. One kid decides to go play college football somewhere else and everyone goes insane. Just listen to some of these people.
“(Barstool) is where Deion got that money,” one of the Twitter users said. “I feel like they specifically targeted Florida State … Why Travis Hunter? He coulda took that 1.5 (million) and got a quarterback or anybody he needed and he took away Travis Hunter.”

The $1.5 million that guy is referencing is the amount of money Barstool is supposedly paying Hunter to attend JSU. Where does that figure come from, you ask? Pardon My Meme.
