Can you turn into a zombie in Dying Light 2: Stay Human? How to increase and manage Immunity?

Dying Light 2 is a post-apocalyptic world filled with boundless life and undead life. While traversing the streets and buildings of Villedor, players will no doubt encounter various types of zombies. While some won’t be very threatening, others will hunt you down.

Here are all the Zombie Types in Dying Light 2: Stay Human

Biters – Biters are the most common form of Infected in Dying Light 2. You will most often see them hanging out in small groups of three or four. These Infected move fairly slowly, and are easy to take down with just a few hits or a dropkick.

Virals – Virals are Zombies that were just recently infected. Their movements are more like that of a human and are also pretty common in Villedor. These enemies will often sprint and climb to try and catch you. You will run into them the most during a Chase at night.

Howlers – These are the Infected that you’ll want to avoid. They stand out due to their glowing chest, and an icon above their head marks them. If a Howler notices you, they will scream and alert nearby Infected. Alerting one of these at night will immediately start a Chase.

Bolters – Bolters will do just that, bolt. When a Bolter senses your presence, it will immediately try to run away at high speed. You do not have to fight them, though they often have rare loot. They will leave glowing footprints behind for you to follow if you are fast enough to catch them.

Banshees – Banshees are acrobatic and are identifiable by their large sharp claws. They will often leap high into the air to pounce on you. The best way to handle them is to attack them before other infected while they are recharging between jumps.

Spitters – Spitters will be growing bright yellow and are a type of ranged Infected. They will spit chemicals out of their chest from afar. These Infected are not too hard to take down, but they can become a nuisance if not dealt with quickly.

Bombers – These Infected exist in just about every Zombie game. They are the ones that explode when they get close to you. They are bloated and covered in big chemical cists. The best way to take care of these enemies is to take them out with a ranged weapon before they get close.

Goons – These are the big enemies you will often see guarding rare loot. They move fairly slow but hit extremely hard. Often, their attacks are strong enough to knock you out one hit. It will be easier to avoid these big beasts most of the time than getting knocked around and wasting medkits in a fight with one.

Revenant – These Infected are distinguishable by their wing-like growth on their backs. These enemies are slow, but they can buff the zombies around them with a toxic mist that harms the player. They can also call in more zombies to the fight. The best way to deal with them is to take out the lesser Infected as quickly as possible, then finish off the Revenent before it has time to spawn more zombies.

Volatile – Volatile are the Alpha Infected. They are few and far between in-game, but running is the only thing to do if you are unlucky enough to anger one. These enemies are both fast-moving and hard-hitting. They will quickly overwhelm even the most experienced survivors, and only a UV Flashlight will slow them down.

Just about everywhere you turn in Villedor, there’s Infected trying to kill you. Whether it be in the streets, on the roofs, or in the buildings, the world is just filled with them. Therefore, it helps to know what you are getting into when you run into the undead.

Those are all of the Zombie Types in Dying Light 2. Most of these zombies won’t pose too much of a problem for players, however, when the different types of zombies get together, it can become deadly very fast.

Can you turn into a zombie in Dying Light 2?

In Dying Light 2 Stay Human, players take the role of a new protagonist, Aiden Caldwell, trying to find his sister. Along the way, the player will parkour through The City, battle other survivors and zombies, and, unfortunately for Aiden, get infected. This may leave players wondering if they can become zombies in Dying Light 2.

The answer is no—you can not turn into a zombie in Dying Light 2. While Aiden does get infected, players can manage this by watching their Bio Marker and staying in the light. Remaining in the dark for long periods enhances the infection, making Aiden stronger and faster, but eventually, he will die, and players will reset to the previous checkpoint.

Dying Light 2 is early into its life compared to the original Dying Light, which received updates and support for years. The developers have stated that they want to explore Aiden as a zombie, so future DLC may let players play as a zombie in Dying Light 2.

For now, Aiden and the player fight on the side of the living. While it can be fun to stay in the dark and take advantage of your infection, players should be ready to jump back into the light before too long.

How to increase and manage Immunity in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2, while best known for its survival elements, adopts several RPG elements into its gameplay. Players can permanently improve their performance in the field by leveling up their character, and one of the most important stats to increase is Immunity. Here’s how you can improve this critical stat in Dying Light 2.

Increasing Immunity

Immunity dictates how long players can spend outside of UV light in Dying Light 2. When Immunity drops to zero, players will lose health rapidly and eventually die. To increase Immunity, players must improve their Health and Stamina levels in Dying Light 2 by finding Inhibitors scattered through the open world. Each upgrade will improve the immunity gauge regardless of what stat users bolster. Heath and Stamina are upgraded from the menu once players have three Inhibitors in their inventory.

Managing Immunity in Dying Light 2

Players can use consumable items like UV Shroomz and Immunizers to temporarily increase Immunity when out in the field. Players can find these resources in containers, purchased from merchants, and crafted using consumables found in the open world. Make sure to stock up on these tools before venturing off into the night.

Best way to farm Infected Trophies in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 is an open world game filled with things to do and items to scavenge. You use materials that you scavange to craft items that can help you in your battle against the undead. One of the drop types you can get from enemies is Infected Trophies. These are used to upgrade your blueprints in order to craft better items. Here is the best way to farm Infected Trophies in Dying Light 2.

The most effective way too farm the different rarity of Infected Trophies is by triggering chases. Early in the game, chases are best avoided. As you progress and get more skills, they become no problem at all. The reason chases are such a great Infected Trophy farm is because all the “chasing” infected are Virals, an enemy type that consistently drops Infected Trophies. Every zombie that you defeat will drop at least an Uncommon Infected Trophy, and there’s a small chance of getting the other rarities, as well.

The best way to start a chase is to get near a UV-light source. This UV light will be a safe zone from the infected if you happen to get overwhelmed. Then, all you have to do is attack a Howler to get the chase going. Once the chase starts, just search for a ledge to jump up to—one that forces Infected to climb up one at a time. Each time an Infected climbs up onto the ledge, defeat it either by fighting it or kicking it off the ledge. Once you are satisfied with the number you have killed (or the night ends), you can go back and loot all of the bodies.

So there you have it, that is the most effective way to farm Infected Trophies in Dying Light 2. Each one of the Infected you kill during a chase will drop at least an Uncommon Infected Trophy, with the chance for one of higher rarity. By farming this way, you will be able to upgrade your blueprints in no time.
