Persona 5 Tactics and Persona 3 Reload Leaked by Atlus Ahead of Xbox Showcase 2023

Atlus, the developer and publisher of the popular Persona series, has accidentally leaked two of its upcoming games on its official Instagram account. The games are Persona 5 Tactica, a spin-off strategy RPG based on Persona 5, and Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the 2006 PlayStation 2 classic Persona 3. Both games are expected to be officially announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 on June 11, but the trailers have already been captured and shared online by fans.

Persona 5 Tactica

Persona 5 Tactica is a turn-based, grid-based tactics game that features the cast of Persona 5 in a slightly more cartoonish art style. The game seems to combine elements of Fire Emblem and XCOM, as players can use various attacks, Persona summons, and team-based moves to defeat enemies on different maps. The game also promises to have a story mode with dialogue choices and social interactions with the Phantom Thieves.

Persona Leaked

According to the leaked trailer, Persona 5 Tactica will be released on November 17, 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The game will also be available through Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service that offers access to hundreds of games for a monthly fee. The trailer does not indicate if the game will be exclusive to these platforms or if it will also come to PlayStation or Nintendo Switch.

Persona 3 Reload

Persona 3 Reload is a remake (or extensive remaster) of Persona 3, the third main entry in the Persona series that originally launched on PlayStation 2 in 2006. The game follows a group of high school students who can summon Personas, manifestations of their inner selves, to fight against creatures called Shadows that emerge during a phenomenon known as the Dark Hour. The game is known for its dark themes, mature story, and innovative gameplay that combines dungeon crawling with social simulation.

Persona Leaked

The remake appears to have improved graphics and animations that are comparable to Persona 5, as well as new features and content. The trailer shows that the game is running on Unreal Engine, a widely used game engine that powers many modern titles. The trailer also reveals that Persona 3 Reload will be released in early 2024 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. Like Persona 5 Tactica, the game will also be available through Game Pass. Again, there is no mention of other platforms in the trailer.

Atlus’ Response

Atlus has not officially commented on the leaks yet, but it is likely that they will address them during the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 or shortly after. The leaks have generated a lot of excitement and speculation among Persona fans, who have been waiting for a new entry in the series since Persona 5 Royal was released in 2019. Some fans are also hoping that Atlus will announce more Persona projects or ports for other platforms in the future.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 will take place on June 11 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. BST / 7 p.m. CEST. You can watch it live on YouTube, Twitch, or other streaming platforms.

Are Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload exclusive to Xbox and PC?

The trailers do not explicitly state that the games are exclusive to these platforms, but they also do not mention any other platforms. It is possible that Atlus has a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft, or that they will announce other versions later. However, until Atlus confirms anything, we can only assume that the games are only coming to Xbox and PC for now.
