The Beatles: last ever live performance on a rooftop in London. Played by Jonah Lees, Blake Richardson in Brian Epstein Biopic ‘Midas Man’

The Beatles: New documentary tells the story of band’s last ever live performance on a rooftop in London

Get Back is a three-part series which is based around 56 hours of film that has remained unseen for half a century.

The Beatles‘ last ever live performance, up on the rooftop of 3 Saville Row, is a legendary moment in music history and an event that Peter Jackson’s new three-part Disney documentary charts.

Based on around 56 hours of film that for 50 years remained hidden within Apple’s vaults, the three-parter also gives an in-depth insight into the recording sessions for their album Let It Be.

Having mused over where they’d first perform some of the tracks, the band joke about being arrested. In the footage, Paul McCartney says: “We should do the show in a place we’re not allowed to do it, getting forcibly ejected.”

The Beatles to be Played by Jonah Lees, Blake Richardson in Brian Epstein Biopic ‘Midas Man’

Despite recently losing its director just three weeks into shooting, “Midas Man,” the music biopic about The Beatles’ wunderkind manager Brian Epstein, has now cast its fab four.

John Lennon will be played by Jonah Lees (“The Letter for the King”), Paul McCartney by Blake Richardson (“Eleven Days”), George Harrison by Leo Harvey Elledge (“Creation Stories”) and Ringo Starr by newcomer Campbell Wallace. (See first look images above and below).

Joining them will be Adam Lawrence (“Peaky Blinders”) as Pete Best and former late night host Jay Leno as Ed Sullivan, who hosted the Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show” in 1964.

Already cast is Jacob Fortune-Lloyd in the lead role as Epstein, the music mogul who was credited with turning the Beatles into superstars.

The Beatles actors revealed for upcoming ‘Midas Man’ biopic

The silver screen’s Fab Four have been announced.

The actors chosen to play John, Paul, Ringo and George in the new biopic “Midas Man” about legendary Beatles manager Brian Epstein were shared on Thanksgiving Day.

As reported by Deadline, Jonah Lees, 26, of UK series “The Letter For The King,” is John Lennon; musician Blake Richardson, 22, from British pop trio New Hope Club, is Paul McCartney; Leo Harvey-Elledge, 19, who played rocker Liam Gallagher in “Creation Stories,” is George Harrison; and newcomer Campbell Wallace is Ringo Starr.

“Peaky Blinders” actor Adam Lawrence, 30, also joins as former Beatles drummer Pete Best, and “The Queen’s Gambit” actor Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, 33, has been chosen to portray Beatles manager Epstein, a record shop manager from Liverpool who would discover the greatest band of all time.

Filming “Midas Man” began last month in Liverpool but soon ran aground since the film’s initial director Jonas Akerlund was said to be “taking a break” from work and “unlikely to return” to set.

Sara Sugarman, whose previous work includes House Of Versace and Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen, has now taken on the task of directing.

And she’s a woman on a mission with plans to move filming to the US early next year and an expected release date later that year.

Ms Sugarman believes the casting is strong enough to carry the burden of bringing back the Beatles.

“The actors playing the Beatles are an extraordinary group”, she said,

“They ooze that very visceral feeling of the 60s, are charming, playful, and so authentic, and I have no doubt that Jay Leno will capture the essence of Ed Sullivan perfectly.

“His own experience as an American television host will bring forward a natural and accurate portrayal and add an incredible element of modern showbiz to the story.”
