Amanda Kloots Gets Some Help From Frankie Avalon On ‘DWTS’

Amanda Kloots had some surprising help on “Dancing With The Stars” during “Grease” night.

Former teen idol Frankie Avalon joined to sing “Beauty School Dropout” while Kloots and her pro partner Alan Bersten floated across the floor for their Viennese Waltz.

For those not familiar, Avalon sang the song in the iconic movie.

“I thought that was just fantastic,” Len Goodman said. “And the icing on the cake is one of my teenage heroes, Frankie Avalon!”

“I felt like you stepped out of a dream,” Bruno Tonioli added. However, Derek Hough felt it was missing that “moment” that would have made it perfect.

Kloots almost got her perfect score, but ended up with 39 out of 40.

DWTS star Derek Hough SLAMMED for ‘getting in the way’ of Amanda Kloots’ 1st perfect score of the season on Grease night

DANCING With The Stars judge Derek Hough was slammed by fans for “getting in the way” of Amanda Kloots’ first perfect score of the season.

The Talk co-host received the highest numbers of the season during her show-stopping performance with partner Alan Bersten to Beauty School Dropout on Grease night.

Amanda, 39, said she was thrilled to perform the Grease classic as she has seen the movie “a million times” which channeled into her impressive performance.

The Broadway star looked stunning in a retro pink dress complete with the movie character, Frenchy’s, signature bubblegum curly wig.

They proceeded to do a Viennese Waltz, which was praised by Carrie Ann Inaba for its “technique,” “elegance,” “musicality,” and “storytelling.”

Derek, 36, even boasted Amanda is “consistently fantastic” and that the dance had a “beautiful frame.”

However, he did not think highly enough of the performance to give it a 10 like his fellow judges.

Along with Carrie Ann, DWTS costars Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman all gave the pair a 10 – with Derek being the only person on the panel to hand out a 9.

DANG, DEREK!’

Another Twitter user said: “Dang Derek ruined that perfect all 10’s score lmao. But so happy for Amanda aww she’s such a sweetheart.”

“Derek with that 9, honestly Amanda should’ve received a perfect score,” a fourth insisted.

Amanda was joined by singing legend and star of Grease, Frankie Avalon.

The 81-year-old performed live vocals of his song, Beauty School Dropout, as Amanda danced the scene out with her partner, Alan.

Judge Len, 77, was thrilled with the special cameo, gushing while giving his critique of the dance: “The icing on the cake is one of my teenage heroes, Frankie Avalon.”

Later in the evening, contestant JoJo Siwa and her partner, Jenna Johnson, ended up getting the first perfect score of the season.

‘DWTS’ Grease Night: Amanda Kloots gets a near-perfect score, fans call it ‘boring’

‘Amanda’s performance was totally unproblematic, but I agree with Derek. It felt like something was missing’ tweeted a fan

When it comes to ‘The Talk’ co-host Amanda Kloots’ run on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, she has most certainly waltzed her way into the hearts of the judges and fans. With consistently high scores and stunning performances, Kloots is one of the show’s frontrunners. So it’s safe to say that expectations from her are rather high each week.

During ‘Disney Villains Night’, fans were surprised that she didn’t score higher, as her performance packed technique, drama and everything in between. Ready to change that, she and pro-Alan Bersten danced the Viennese waltz to ‘Beauty School Dropout’.

‘Dancing with the Stars’: ‘Grease’ week sees star eliminated after bottom two deadlock

‘Grease’ stars Olivia Newton-John, Frankie Avalon and Didi Conn all appeared

“Dancing with the Stars” has said goodbye to another competitor.

The popular dancing competition show saw celebrities like Olivia Jade Giannulli, JoJo Siwa, Amanda Kloots and more battle it out to the tune of “Grease,” the popular stage musical turned into a film starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.

Newton-John, 73, appeared a handful of times throughout the episode to share memories of working on the film, while Frankie Avalon appeared in-studio to perform his tune from the musical, “Beauty School Dropout,” which Kloots danced to.

Siwa earned the season’s first perfect score – a 40 out of 40 – with her partner Jenna Johnson after they danced to “Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee (Reprise).” The couple have made history this season as the first same-sex duo to perform.

The bottom two were made up of Giannulli and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy and Melanie C and her partner Gleb Savchenko.
It was then up to the judges to choose who went home – and they were split.
Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli advocated for Melanie C to stay, while Derek Hough and Len Goodman – who is the head judge and therefore the tiebreaker – chose to keep Giannulli around for another week.
