Billie Eilish Australia Tour Announced: Happier Than Ever 2022 RAC Arena

Billie Eilish unveils Australian arena tour dates for next year, including an RAC Arena show

Billie Eilish fans will be happier than ever today, thanks to the news the 19-year-old pop phenomenon has unveiled Australian arena dates for next year.

The Australasian leg of the Bad Guy hit-maker’s Happier Than Ever, The World Tour finishes in Perth at RAC Arena on September 29 after performances in Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The tour announcement comes hot on the heels of confirmation Eilish will headline the Friday night of iconic UK musical festival, Glastonbury, next year.

The seven-time Grammy Award winner born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell will be the youngest solo artist to headline the event.

The superstar’s first visit to WA since mid-2019, when she played a relatively intimate show to around 3200 fans at Fremantle Arts Centre, follows the release of her second studio album, Happier Than Ever in July.

The album topped charts throughout the world, repeating the incredible success of Eilish’s 2019 debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

The Californian artist’s first long-player won five Grammys, including the so-called “big four” awards of record, song and album of the year plus best new artist.

The then 18-year-old made history as not only the youngest person to win the top gongs but also the first artist to sweep all four since Christopher Cross in 1981.

Since scoring her first ARIA Top 10 single three years ago with Lovely, featuring R&B star Khalid, Eilish has racked up an impressive 11 more Top 10 hits in Australia, including Bury a Friend, When the Party’s Over, the chart-topping Bad Guy and Grammy-winning James Bond theme No Time to Die.

Happier Than Ever was recorded during lockdown with her older brother Finneas O’Connell, who co-writes and produces her songs.

The 24-year-old, who releases his debut solo album The Optimist this month, also tours as part of her live band.

Eilish has recently resumed proper touring, performing at major festivals such as the Governors Ball in New York City and Austin City Limits in Texas.

Tickets to her Australasian concerts, which are all-ages events, go on sale on October 15, with pre-sales starting on October 11.

Billie Eilish announces 2022 Australian tour

Book in an evening with Billie Eilish! She’s back on Aussie shores in September, 2022.

The 19-year-old superstar and her brother/producer FINNEAS are making their fourth trip Down Under, headlining all ages arena shows around the country as part of a world tour behind her candid, complex second album Happier Than Ever.

“It’s just gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be jumping and screaming and getting low,” Billie says of the upcoming shows. “It’s gonna be so much fun. I cannot wait.” Us either!

Billie has renewed her partnership with sustainability org REVERB to make these Australian shows climate positive – “eliminating significantly more emissions than the tour creates.” Fans can also attend Billie Eilish Action Village stations at each date, focussing on climate action and climate justice opportunities.

Tickets are up for grabs Friday 15 October at 11am local time (except Melbourne, on sale 12pm local time). And there’s a few presales happening from 11 October.

She’s been performing at overseas festivals, including Austin City Limits, Governors Ball, and Global Citizen, where she joined Coldplay for their performance of ‘Fix You’. Having had a taste of the Happier Than Ever era, we’re keen to experience how Billie has levelled up her stage game since her last visit back in 2019, which the triple j live music team captured for a very loud Live At The Wireless.
