VIRLANSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate features Banjo & Kazooie as playable characters, marking their debut as the first third-party fighters from Microsoft. Their inclusion was announced during the E3 Nintendo Direct on June 11th, 2019, as part of the third downloadable fighters from Fighters Pass Vol. 1, alongside Hero. On September 4th, 2019, they were released as part of Challenger Pack 3. In terms of the roster, they are classified as Fighter #73.
Chris Sutherland reprises his role as the voice actor for both Banjo & Kazooie, utilizing his portrayals from the Banjo-Kazooie series across all regions, which have been repurposed for their appearance in Ultimate.
On the current tier list, Banjo & Kazooie are ranked 66th out of 82, placing them in the C- tier.
According to VGC, Grant Kirkhope, the composer of Banjo-Kazooie, expressed his belief that another game in the series is unlikely.
