VIRLANPolice bodycam footage shows officer confronting Allen Premium Outlets gunman
Law enforcement experts and trainers are praising the Allen officer who tracked down the mass shooter last month.
The Allen Police Department released bodycam footage from the May 6 incident at the Allen Premium Outlets mall.
The video shows how the shooter killed eight people, including three children, and injured at least seven others at the outdoor mall before an officer responded. The officer had been on another call nearby.
The footage starts with the officer telling some kids to use their seatbelts when gunshots are heard in the background.
The officer says “I think we’ve got shots fired at the outlet mall.”
The video shows the officer grabbing his rifle from his vehicle and sprint across the parking lot toward the gunshots.
