Elden Ring Jarburg Location, Loot & Quests

Elden Ring Jarburg Location, Loot & Quests: How to get to Jarburg?

Jarburg is a dungeon in Elden Ring’s Liurnia of the Lakes region, where you can find numerous pots, jar shards, and runes, as well as floral crafting materials. By completing the Diallos side quest, you can eventually secure the Companion Jar talisman, Hoslow’s Petal Whip, and Diallos’s Mask. In this Elden Ring Jarburg guide, we’ll tell you where to find the area and what loot to expect.

Harburg: The Coziest Place In The Lands Between

Jarburg is a town with no residents except for Living Jars who spend their days dancing adorably, laying in the grass, or growing rare flowers to bring some color to the cliffside retreat. Jarburg is a great place to harvest crafting ingredients and a few rare flowers like Miquella’s Lily. Later in the game, Diallos will find his way to Jarburg and play an important role in the well-being of its people.

Iron Fist Alexander is originally from Jarburg, though he left to become a stronger Warrior long ago and swore never to return. He didn’t do this out of malice or shame or anything like that, he just believes it doesn’t do anyone any good to linger on the past, especially when the “warrior’s path” is one that must be walked alone.

Elden Ring Jarburg Location

To get to the location of Jarburg in Elden Ring, you have to find the one and only way to reach it without dying. Yes, as far as we know, there’s only one path to the adorable village of peaceful jar-people, and it’s pretty precarious. The first step is to teleport to whichever site of grace is the closest to the Carian Study Hall tower. That’s in the east of the lake in Liurnia. We chose the local Artist’s Shack, but you can take any route works best for you. Do not go into the tower, though. Instead, walk over to the south side of the tower and look down the cliff to the northeast. As you scan the side of the cliff, you’ll see what looks like giant tombstones sticking out. What you need to do is work your way down these tombstones into Jarburg.

And that’s how to get to the location of Jarburg in Elden Ring. I highly recommend that you do this platforming section with Torrent, so that you can avoid some of the fall damage you’ll inevitably incur. Either way, be careful on your way down, because even the horse won’t help you if you fall from high enough. Once you’re down there, be sure to activate the site of grace for future use. Also, be sure to have a chat with the Jar Bairn to kick of his quest line. We cover it in our Elden Ring Jar Bairn NPC Questline guide, but be warned, we spoil the entire thing.

Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You’ll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn’t let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.

How To Get To Jarburg

Jerburg is found on the cliffs below the Carian Study Hall, though you can’t access it from the Site of Lost Grace of the same name. Instead, head to one of the Site of Lost Grace in southeast Liurnia and continue north towards the Carian Study Hall. Just to the south of this spot is a cliff which, if you look over carefully, has an outcropping that players can climb their way down to.

The drop is too far to survive normally, so look for jutting stones to scale instead. It’s best if you ride Torrent for the majority of this jumping puzzle, but be sure to completely let go of the thumbstick after jumping to stop Torrent in his tracks upon landing – for some sections, it can be easier to dismount Torrent briefly, like with vertical drops that Torrent might have a hard time getting to. Find your way down the cliffside, and look for the Site of Lost Grace towards the southern edge of Jarburg. Jar-Bairn will be sitting on a nearby stair kicking their legs in the air without a care.

JARBURG LOOT

Your most exciting potential rewards while in Jarburg are Hoslow’s Petal Whip, Diallos’s Mask, and the Companion Jar talisman, but they are only acquired by advancing a side quest involving the NPC named Diallos. Otherwise, the village is still good for some less common materials such as Trina’s Lily, Eye of Yelough, and Arteria Leaf, along with various golden runes, bits of cracked pots, and ritual pots.

JARBURG WALKTHROUGH

From the last stone platform before reaching the village, jump onto the roof of the closest hut to loot 3 x Smithing Stone (3) and then touch the Site of Grace in the southeast. Head back to the first hut and walk along the cliffs behind it. Jump onto the roof of a hut in the north for a Ritual Pot, then drop down and look behind you for a Cracked Pot.

Check the hut in the northeast for another Cracked Pot and a Living Jar Shard. Head south from here and look to the right for a large decorative jar. On top of it is another Ritual Pot. Use the boulders nearby or your horse to get on top of the jar. Continue heading south and look at the large headstone to the left for one last Cracked Pot. Further south past the village proper, you will find a cluster of sarcophagi where you can loot a Golden Rune (1), 2 x Golden Rune (2), 2 x Golden Rune (3) and a single Golden Rune (6).

Jarburg Quests in Elden Ring

To secure the best loot in Jarburg, you should avoid attacking any of the pots while in the area. Not far downhill from the site of grace, there are some steps leading up to the front porch of a house. An animated pot named Jar Bairn is seated along their edge. You can stand on a large rock and talk to Jar Bairn to learn about their uncle Alexander, a traveling warrior pot. This discussion relates to the extended quest line for the Diallos character, which you must progress elsewhere and eventually here within the village to earn the opportunity to finally search the area for the Companion Jar talisman, Hoslow’s Petal Whip, and Diallos’s Mask.
