Why do cricket bowlers run so far?

Fast bowlers tend to have long, rhythmical run-ups to allow them to develop momentum which adds to their ability to bowl the ball at high speeds. The term “run-up” can also refer to the area where the bowler runs during his run-up.

Why do cricket bowlers throw weirdly?

Hyperextension. In a report by scientists commissioned by the ICC it was shown that Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Indian bowler R. P. Singh were seen to extend their elbow joints by a negative angle with respect to the upper arm in cricket. This phenomenon, also known as hyperextension, can give the illusion of throwing.
