Bruno Mars Has $50 Million Gambling Debt With MGM Casino?!

The post Bruno Mars Apparently Owes $50 Million in Gambling Debt appeared first on Consequence.

Bruno Mars recently entered the ninth year of his residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas, which he extended with 12 shows taking place throughout 2024.

The “24K Magic” singer announced a multi-year residency with MGM Resorts International in 2016, performing at the hospitality giant’s Park MGM resort in Las Vegas.

But if you believe a report from News Nation

part of the reason Mars’ residency has lasted for so long is because he’s accrued a sizable gambling debt at the casino. “He owes millions to the MGM [from gambling],” an unnamed source told News Nation. “[MGM] basically own him.”

The source estimated that Mars owes as much as $50 millions to MGM. He reportedly takes in $90 million annually as part of his deal with the casino, but after taxes he’s just barely covering the money owed.

Bruno Mars needs to lay off the slots?

With the allegations out, Mars’ 2013 story with GQ has resurfaced. In the interview, the singer reflected on how his love for gambling started back when he was 19 years old.

“I used to be like a loudmouth,” he said. “You know the guy, people would want to take his money.

If you do get them to lose, they’re out for you, they’re gunning for you. And that’s when they’re weak. And that’s when you jump or pounce on them.”

Mars went on to detail his first major loss of a hundred dollars. “I remember my first bet,” he said. “My hand was shaking, and a guy called me out on it and embarrassed me,” he said. “You gotta lose. You just have to lose to win, to understand.”

MGM is doubling down on Mars though. The Pinky Ring, his lounge at the Bellagio (an MGM property), debuted over the Super Bowl and we hear he has another project with the high end casino in the works as well.
