If you’re having internet trouble this morning, you’re not alone.

Comcast Xfinity internet service is experiencing outages across the country. According to tracking site Down Detector, reports of outages started around 6 a.m. this Tuesday morning and are continuing. Sixty-four percent of the issues involve a total blackout; 24% involved landline internet services.

According to media reports, internet, television and telephone services for Comcast/Xfinity services are involved.

Comcast had not released a statement about the outages and it is unclear how long it will last.

Widespread Xfinity Cable, Internet Outages Reported Across Bay Area; 54,000 Without Service

An extensive Xfinity cable and Internet outage was reported across the Bay Area Monday night and early Tuesday morning, impacting a wide portion of the Bay Area.

The website DownDetector.com showed a spike in Xfinity outages reported shortly before 10 p.m. Upwards of 24,000 individual reported the outage according to the website, but rampant complaints on social media indicated that the outage was far more widespread, impacting customers in San Francisco and the Peninsula, the East Bay and the North Bay.

The outage was widespread enough that the Marin County Sheriff tweeted out a reminder for residents not to call 9-1-1 to report or complain about their Internet outage and instead contact their provider.

Comcast Xfinity Outage Map as Services Down Across U.S.

Xfinity outages were reported across the San Francisco Bay Area on Monday evening, leaving thousands of customers offline and disconnected.

According to DownDetector’s Xfinity outage map, customers in San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Fremont and surrounding areas were affected.

Xfinity users began reporting outages at around 9 p.m. local time and more than 25,000 had been reported by about 10 p.m.

Approximately 60 percent of those who reported problems said they had a total blackout of Xfinity services, about 30 percent reported issues with landline and internet, while 11 percent of users said they had signal issues.

If your Xfinity services aren’t working, customers can check if there is an outage by logging into their accounts and visiting the Xfinity Status Center.

You can also register your cell number to receive text alerts about service outages by texting OUT to 266278. To speak to Xfinity about your outage, log into your account and schedule a callback.

What to do during an outage

If the power is out, utility providers will need to restore power before Xfinity services can be restored. According to Xfinity, power may start working before Xfinity services resume in those situations.

If your internet is down, Xfinity customers can find and connect to Xfinity WiFi hotspots until their connection is restored—just sign in to any xfinitywifi network using your username and password.

Xfinity customers can download shows and movies to watch offline on their mobile devices in case of a power outage with the Xfinity Stream app.

Many Comcast Xfinity users across Philadelphia and southern New Jersey are reporting outages Tuesday morning, though the extent of the issue remains unclear.

The website Downdetector showed a spike in complaints about Xfinity outages Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. Xfinity’s own outage tracker was down for many customers, who were greeted with the error message: “We are experiencing abnormal traffic to our network or… the service or servers on it are not currently available.”

It’s unclear how widespread the issue is. Complaints on social media about Xfinity outages Tuesday morning also came from customers in Chicago, Michigan, New York city following a major outage in and around San Francisco Monday evening.

The outage in the Bay Area was so widespread that the Marin County Sheriff issued a reminder to residents not to call 9-1-1 to report their internet issues.

A reported Comcast outage is interrupting Xfinity service for users across the country, including those in the tri-state area. The outage is impacting Comcast Xfinity customers nationwide; the company has not given a potential cause.

Households in several states are reported to be affected by a widespread outage of Comcast Corp. CMCSA, +0.15% Xfinity services Tuesday. There have been at least 54,000 reported outages Tuesday morning, according to Downdetector, which broadly tracks user reports of service outages. Reports indicate that users in San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, and other cities have been ensnarled by the outage. Comcast didn’t respond to a MarketWatch request for comment on the scale of the outage or expectations for when service would be restored. Shares of Comcast are up 0.5% in Tuesday trading but they’ve declined 7.7% over the past three months as the S&P 500 SPX, -0.37% has risen 5.6%.
