‘They are definitely broken up’

Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline have split, it has been claimed.

The pair, who star on the hit Netflix series, started dating last April and made their relationship Instagram official two months later.

According to reports, the former lovebirds have called it quits and are ‘definitely’ broken up.

‘Madelyn and Chase are no longer together,’ a source told People Magazine. ‘They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago.’

They are definitely broken up,’ another added.

Chase, 29, and Madelyn, 23, have yet to speak out over the reports, and still follow one another on Instagram.

News of the split comes just months after they celebrated their one-year anniversary with low-key posts on social media.

The John B actor shared a snap of his co-star walking down the street in front of him, simply captioned: ‘365 w/ u [sic].’

Following suit with a similar upload, the Sarah Cameron actress added on her pwn page: ‘Thanks for helping me keep track of my belongings for a whole year (: adore u [sic].’

Fans were clearly living for their romance both on and off-screen as they won an MTV Award for best kiss earlier this year, and shared an embrace on stage as they took home the gong.

Madelyn Cline was spotted spending time with Ross Butler in Milan amid speculation that she and Chase Stokes have called it quits.

The South Carolina native, 23, jetted off to Italy earlier this month to attend various Milan Fashion Week shows alongside the 13 Reasons Why actor, 31, and a few other pals. The twosome were seen sitting together at the Salvatore Ferragamo presentation on Saturday, September 25.

One day later, Cline shared photos from her time at the Ferragamo show via social media. After showing off her glamorous outfit for the evening, she posted a clip of herself goofing off with Butler and a friend.

The To All the Boys: Always and Forever actor, for his part, posted a solo shot from the event as well as a snap sitting next to Cline during their Italy trip. “Dash n’ friends/fashion friends,” he captioned the photos.

The This Is the Night actress — who confirmed her romance with Outer Banks’ costar Stokes, 29, in June 2020 — was then seen dancing with Butler at the CERA restaurant in Milan in a video published by TMZ on Thursday, September 30, causing some fans to think they could be dating.

While Cline didn’t tag Butler in any of her Milan photos, she did tag her Outer Banks costar Jonathan Daviss. The 22-year-old star hung out with the Boy Erased actress during his time in Milan before traveling to Miami to meet up with Stokes earlier this week.

“Miami?” Stokes captioned a series of photos via Instagram on Tuesday, September 28. The snaps showed the Maryland native jumping around his hotel room and hanging out with Davis and Austin North.

As Stokes partied in Florida, his longtime girlfriend traveled from Milan to Paris, as did Butler.

Cline shared a photo of her look for the ROKH Spring/Summer 2022 fashion show via her Instagram Story on Thursday before posting a video of the Eiffel Tower at night.

Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline are no longer together.

“Madelyn and Chase are no longer together,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago.”

Another source says, “They are definitely broken up.”

The former pair met while filming the first season of their hit Netflix series, Outer Banks. They didn’t make their relationship Instagram official until June 2020, when Stokes shared a photo of the pair having dinner on a beach with the caption: “Cats outta the bag.”

Resharing Stokes’ post, Cline added: “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”

Later that year, Cline opened up about being in love with Stokes. “It’s really cool. Love is tight,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s cool to share this experience with your favorite people and also your favorite person. … I feel very happy.”

Stokes spoke to PEOPLE in March about getting to work alongside Cline since they forged a romantic bond off-screen.

“It’s been a lot of fun to drive together to work, come home and throw ideas off of each other about different scenes, collaborating, watching her get excited about her work and be her cheerleader,” Stokes said.

“The beautiful thing for us is that our relationship was established as friends and coworkers prior to what we have now. The biggest difference now is I get to be even more proud of her as my partner when I watch her work,” he continued. “Especially this year, not just her, but everybody in the show has increased their performances and worked super hard on everything that we’re doing right now. I’m in the background, kind of like a stage mom, watching her absolutely crush it and going, ‘That was awesome!’ “

Stokes and Cline then celebrated their first anniversary the following month with sweet Instagram tributes.

“365 w/ u ❤️,” Stokes captioned a photo of Cline walking down a street ahead of him.

The two Netflix heartthrobs have been cast in the new film adaptation based on Scott Westerfield’s dystopian book of the same name.

A beloved book series is coming to the small screen — and two of our favorite Netflix stars are set to lead!

Joey King and Chase Stokes will star in the Netflix movie adaptation of “Uglies,” based on the young adult science-fiction series by Scott Westerfeld.

Netflix confirmed the casting to TODAY, and shared the exciting news on social media. Other newly announced cast members include Brianne Tju and Keith Powers.

King’s involvement in the production had already been announced, but the casting of Stokes, Tju and Powers was only revealed on Tuesday.

“Uglies” takes place in a dystopian world where a compulsory operation at 16 makes everyone “pretty” by conforming to an ideal standard of beauty — but not everyone wants to undergo the procedure.

Stokes and King have both already appeared in popular Netflix productions. King was the star of “The Kissing Booth” film series, while Stokes has played the lead role in the drama series “Outer Banks” for the last two seasons.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their excitement about the casting.

“No. I couldn’t,” she replied. “I think that it’s awesome to date someone in your field, who gets it, but doing the same exact thing as somebody is tough. It’s really tough.”
