How to Find Wayward Cave in Pokemon? How to Get Through the Cave?

Wayward Cave is located under the Cycling Road in Route 206. This cave has two entrances. In the visible entrance, you will encounter the trainer Mira who would like your help to get out of the cave. She will join you and activate double trainer and wild battles. In the hidden area, you will encounter a variety of rare Pokemon including the Dragon-type Pokémon Gible.

What is Wayward Cave in Pokémon?

Wayward Cave is a multi-floor cave located in western Sinnoh. It lies on Route 206, with its main entrance located beneath the Cycling Road. There is a hidden entrance to Wayward Cave directly under the Cycling Road, west of the main entrance; the portion of the cave accessible from there is notably the only habitat of wild Gible in Sinnoh (other than the Grand Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl).

Cut is required to access the cave. Additionally, Rock Smash is required to navigate the portion accessible from the main entrance, while the Bike is required to navigate the portion accessible from the hidden entrance. Additionally, in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl, Strength is required to access B1F. 1F is dark, but can be lit up with Flash.

Visiting the cave is completely optional in Generation IV and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and it only plays a small role in the plot of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In Sinnoh’s distant past as Hisui, Wayward Cave is part of the Coronet Highlands and is connected to Wayward Wood

How to Find Wayward Cave in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl

After visiting Eterna City, beating the Gym Leader and Team Galactic members there, you’ll be given a bike, allowing you to travel the cycling road just south of there. Beneath the bike path is Route 206 – turn right to find saplings to cut. Head north, and you’ll find an entrance to Wayward Cave on the topmost right.

When the player first reaches the northeastern corner of the main cavern on 1F, they encounter a small lost girl named Mira. She is one of the Stat Trainers, specializing in the Special Attack stat. Alone and afraid, she asks the player to take her back to the cave’s entrance.

While Mira is with the player, they cannot use Dig as a field move or an Escape Rope. Once the player reaches the cave’s entrance, she departs.

While Mira is with the player, all wild battles become Double Battles, and all Trainer battles that would otherwise be Double Battles become Multi Battles. After every battle, she completely heals the player’s party.

Wayward Cave Main Entrance Guide

Before entering Wayward Cave, in the most northeast of Route 206, make sure you have Pokemon that know Rock Smash and TM70 – Flash. You’ll have Rock Smash as part of the story by now – but can find Flash in the basement of Oreburgh Gate.

She and her Kadabra will join the party and make the fighting that much easier, and the experience that much more plentiful (since her Pokemon won’t take a cut of the experience, but will draw in an extra enemy Pokemon per battle). Once she’s acquired, we can then start to explore.

On the east side of the cave, you can find an Escape Rope, and plenty of trainers to fight. Continuing westward, you should also run into a Revive. Speaking of trainers, most of the conflicts in this cave (but not all) will happen as double battles, especially if you’ve found Mira and are helping her navigate her way out of the cave. However, nothing should be too overwhelming for you, but if you need help, be sure to consult our list of trainers and their Pokemon to see what you should expect upon any given battle’s start.

As far as items are concerned, two more can be found apart from the aforementioned Escape Rope. Near Camper Diego, a Rare Candy can be found. Near Lass Cassidy and her cute Buneary, TM32 can be found, a technical machine that will teach a Pokemon the skill Double Team. With all of the Pokemon slain and the items gathered, you can then work your way back to the entrance.

How To Get Through Wayward Cave in Pokemon

The Wayward Cave is somewhat tricky to navigate because of its many rock formations. These make it so that players have to wind their way through the map’s valleys. The good news is that this isn’t especially difficult if you know where you’re going.

The end goal of the Wayward Cave is to find their way to Mira and escort her out of the cave. She is located in the northeastern area of the map and needs to be brought out through the entrance.

The fastest way to reach her is by heading to the northernmost area of the map and then moving east. This can be done by simply heading north from the entrance, going west when you reach a wall, and using HMs to advance farther forward. Before long, the player won’t be able to travel any further north.

From there, just head in a southeastern direction. Eventually, there’s a path that forms a circle which is connected to a long hallway that leads to Mira. After finding Mira, just retrace your steps to complete the objective.

This may seem like a tough maze to tackle, but the good news for experienced Pokemon players is that it’s not nearly as troublesome as the Solaceon Ruins.

Wayward Cave Secret Entrance Guide

Once you have Strength, you can return to this area and enter the Secret Entrance of Wayward Cave, to the left of the main entrance beneath Cycling Road (you can’t see it!). Beyond the boulder blocking your way, you’ll find the only place in all of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that spawns Gible (besides the Grand Underground). Despite this, you definitely want to stock up on Repel before entering, too.

This cave is dark, but you don’t actually need Flash once you move the boulder out of your way with Strength and head into the basement to the left. Then, break out your bicycle, because you’re going to need it to get around and over the various ramp obstacles present down here. You’ll need to switch gears on the fly to make long jumps and short jumps in order to get every item.

Luckily, Gible isn’t too hard to find once inside Wayward Cave through the secret entrance. It has around a 15% chance to show up, so you should find it in no time! Just run around the room with the bike ramps – it’s the only room in Wayward Cave that spawns Gible.
