BEST REYNA PLAYS IN VALORANT MONTAGE

Forged in the heart of Mexico, Reyna dominates single combat in Valorant, popping off with each kill she scores. Her capability is only limited by her raw skill, making her highly dependent on performance.

Is Reyna a Mexican in Valorant?

Reyna Mondragón is a Radiant from Mexico with the power to absorb life energy from the souls of people that she kills. After being affected by a disastrous event involving machines, Mondragón has a strong dislike for technology and humanity, believing herself and her fellow Radiants to be the true future for Earth. Before her time as a VALORANT Protocol agent, she set up a sanctuary to help people escape from Kingdom and heal, establishing a community there and becoming their protector and avenger.

None of them however hold the same place in her heart as her little sister, Lucia, someone who Mondragón has been close to losing. After her eventual recruitment into VALORANT Tracker as its eleventh recruit, “Reyna“, she was able to work with some of the organization’s scientists to set up a procedure that allowed her to transfer some of the life energy she collects into Lucia, keeping her alive – at least for now. With the process remaining inefficient and Lucia’s fate still uncertain, Reyna continues to hunt down any enemies she finds in her way, gaining more life energy with every kill and more time bought for her sister. Reyna’s aggressive, bitter nature however draws concern from some of her fellow agents, and some fear what she could end up becoming should she be unable to save Lucia…

Reyna takes what she wants when she wants it, no matter who is standing in her way. Savage and almost animalistic, she is not one to hesitate when it comes to eliminating her enemies and getting blood on her hands. She has a strong dislike for technology and thrives on the enemy’s misery, and loves to compete with fellow Radiants to see who is the most powerful.

How To Play As Reyna In Valorant

Reyna is the newest addition to the roster of Agents and she has some rather useful tricks up her sleeves. She acts as an energy parasite that collects orbs after killing an enemy, gradually building up her strength and abilities. Hence, the more she kills, the more deadly she becomes. Therefore, during the start of every match, she’ll need to stick with her teammates so she can build herself up. With her abilities fully charged up, Reyna can help down opposition in a heartbeat. Every agent comes with 4 distinct abilities; two Basics, one Signature, and one Ultimate. Two basic abilities can be purchased during pre-round, Signature abilities recharge throughout the round and Ultimate abilities charge up during combat. Reyna’s abilities are; Dismiss, Devour, Leer, and Empress.

The Abilities of Reyna

Soul Orbs (Passive)
Whenever Reyna kills an enemy, they’ll drop a Soul Orb in which she only has 3 seconds to pick up. Once enough Orbs are collected, she can activate one (out of two) basic abilities; Dismiss or Devour. Devour is the first basic ability that when Reyna picks up enough orbs, health will fully restore with +50 armor. Dismiss the other basic ability that will make her invincible and invisible temporarily. Whenever invincible, she won’t be able to attack. Both of these basic abilities are circumstantial and can really help Reyna while in a pinch. Thus, they can be used (while also being enhanced) while Reyna’s Ultimate ability is activated.

Leer
This is her Signature ability and it provides a ‘flash effect’ that can blind opponents from clear across the map. Even though other characters have a similar ability, what makes Leer different is that it won’t affect Reyna and her teammates. It can be used in either an offensive or defensive situations, but be wise on how to position the eye. One-shot from an enemy will destroy it.

Empress
This is Reyna’s Ultimate ability and when activated she will have a ‘bloodlust’ effect that’ll increase her damage. Each kill will reset its timer making her a potential unlimited killing machine. She will have rapid-fire and it provides a crescendo of death with her abilities constantly adding up with each frag. It’s best used during tight situations and even when she’s by herself. Even though it’s tempting to use as soon as it’s charged up, it’s recommended to be treated as an “ace up her sleeve”.

Dismiss
Her signature ability, Dismiss, allows Reyna to take on an incorporeal form that keeps her safe from damage and increases her move speed at the same time. The ability comes with a catch: She can’t use any other abilities or draw her weapon while in the form that lasts for 2 seconds. Use this ability to disengage from dangerous situations or to reposition yourself and gain the advantage in a fight. You can cancel the ability early if needed, but be mindful of its wind down time. If you get caught out in the open while coming out of dismiss, there is a strong chance you won’t even have your weapon drawn before you get sent to the spectate screen.

Devour
The last of her purchasable abilities, Devour, is the real reason most players come to play Reyna. When Reyna kills a player, she is given the ability to claim the soul orb with her E or Q ability. If you happen to take some damage in the trade off, and have some breathing room, using devour will replenish your health pool along with a boost to your shields. Be careful to maximize the value you can get with devour as it will tether you to the soul orb with a long purple line that will lead right to you and breaking off line of sight with the soul orb will cause the healing to stop and the ability to be spent. Just like dismiss, you have to kill other players to use the ability so if you still struggle in 1v1’s you might want to hit the range first.

Is Reyna viable in the current meta in Valorant?

As powerful as Reyna can be when she’s on a streak, she’s not necessarily the best pick for an organized team of five. In a challenging match against evenly-skilled players, you might get more consistent results from a Duelist like Phoenix (who can flash, molotov, and block vision) or Raze (who can just straight up kill with her abilities).

That said, Leer is one of the strongest individual abilities of Reyna in Valorant in the game. In the hands of a confident player that’s having a good day for headshots, she can be exactly what you need. She’s not a safe pick, but always a fun one.

Is Reyna good Valorant?

Reyna is considered by many as the strongest Duelist in Valorant because of her self-sufficient abilities. While on the surface, Reyna’s abilities can look weak, it is unbelievably overpowered in-game if you’re able to easily secure kills.

Is Reyna a queen Valorant?

She is also implied to have become the Leader of the Radiant side, with several lines from KAY/O naming her ‘The Queen’ and referring to her ‘Reign’.

Why is Reyna so popular Valorant?

Reyna is the biggest enabler of just raw aim and mechanical skill, she’s designed to do dumb things and get away with it. She can take risks that other agents simply can’t and it’s this flair that draws players to her. While she doesn’t fit the meta, Reyna can still very much play to her own strengths.

Who is better raze or Reyna?

Raze can easily cause deal damage from a distance with her explosive abilities, while Reyna has to rely on her gunplay. However, the Mexican vampiric duelist can still use it to initiate a fight and help her in combat.
