What Type Of Game Is Diablo Immortal

What Type Of Game Is Diablo Immortal? When Is The Release Date? Is It Free?

Diablo Immortal is an upcoming free-to-play video game in the Diablo series, designed primarily for mobile devices. The massively multiplayer online action role-playing game takes place between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase, it was announced in late 2018 and is planned for release on Android, iOS and Windows on June 2, 2022.

WHAT TYPE OF GAME IS DIABLO IMMORTAL?

Like almost all Diablo games, Immortal is an isometric, top-down, hack-and-slash MMO where you battle hordes of minions and use magic and might to win the day. What’s different about Immortal, though, is that it’s fully designed to run on phones, and will also include a large multiplayer component, making Diablo Immortal more of an MMORPG than a typical mobile experience.

Blizzard assures us that the game will still have a substantial single-player story, but Diablo Immortal is also aimed to be a true MMORPG, with features like shared social spaces, four-player dungeons, legendary loot, and even guilds. Blizzard seems to be hoping that this approach will make monetizing the game easier as the content will continue to grow over time.

Diablo Immortal | Release Date & PC Reveal

Diablo: Immortal is now coming to PC as well as mobile – and it will arrive for both platforms on June 2. The MMO was originally announced solely for Android and iOS, but Blizzard Entertainment revealed in a blog post that a PC port will be released in open beta alongside the mobile version.

Cross-play and cross-progression will be available immediately on both versions, meaning players on mobile can play with those on PC, and users can continue their gameplay seamlessly when switching platforms. Classic mouse and keyboard support will be available on the PC version, alongside controller support.

Blizzard said in another blog post dedicated to the PC version’s development that, for long-time fans, the port “will feel a little different from other PC Diablo games” as it originally only planned to make the game for mobile.

The PC version is therefore “an experiment”, which is why its only launching in beta and not as a full version. “It is important for us to assure you that Immortal will deliver an uncompromised AAA mobile experience when played on Windows PC,” the post said.

ٌWhat Is The Plot Of Diablo Immortal?

For all you Diablo fans who can’t get enough of the grimdark world of Sanctuary, you’ll be pleased to know that Diablo Immortal actually fleshes out the period between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 a bit more than we’ve previously seen. Set five years after the events of Diablo 2, Immortal takes place in the town of Wortham, a sleepy little village of hardly any consequence at all–until it is threatened by hordes of cultists and the undead. Players then learn from Diablo fan-favorite Deckard Cain that to restore peace to the hamlet (and subsequently the world), they must travel across Sanctuary to track down and destroy shards of the Worldstone, preventing a necrotic calamity.

However, in the midst of all that chaos is yet another struggle: the conflict between the Immortals and the Shadows, referred to as the “Cycle of Strife.” According to the game’s lore, the conflict first began when a powerful woman named Daedessa the Builder gave birth to two children: Kion and Akeba. To her son, Kion, she gifted an artifact known as the Eternal Crown, and bestowed upon him the responsibility of protecting Sanctuary from the undead. Ultimately, Kion used his power and the crown to create the Immortals, an organization focused on protecting the realm.

However, to her daughter Akeba, Daedessa gave an even greater responsibility: to live in the shadows, constantly challenging and testing her brother’s vigilance in order to ensure the Immortals were always worthy of their station. Akeba thus formed a group known as the Shadows, with the understanding that if they were to ever overtake the Immortals, they would then become Immortals themselves.

WHAT IS GAMEPLAY LIKE IN DIABLO IMMORTAL?

Gameplay in Diablo Immortal is going to be very familiar to fans of the iconic franchise. As you explore throughout the world of Sanctuary, you’ll progress through a variety of dungeons in order to earn new loot and progress in the main story. According to Blizzard, dungeons in the game can be completed within 10-15 minutes either by yourself or with a party, and are filled with monsters, gears, and items.

Outside of the traditional dungeons found in Diablo games, Immortal also features Rifts, a mechanic that comes into play during the endgame modes of Immortal. Rifts will allow players to transport themselves to new areas in an effort to take on some particularly difficult monsters. The areas you’ll be transported to will be randomly generated, and you’ll be timed to finish off your enemy. Should you succeed, you’ll be rewarded with a ton of loot that could really help boost your character.

What platforms is the game available on?

Diablo Immortal will be launching for mobile devices only running on Android or iOS. Blizzard has no intention of bringing this game to PC or consoles like it has done with Diablo III and Diablo 2: Resurrected.

As part of today’s launch date announcement, Blizzard has revealed that Diablo Immortal will be releasing on PC as well. It will initially go live as an open beta the same day as the mobile launch. Any progress made during the PC open beta will carry over to the PC launch.

In addition, the game will support cross-play between platforms so you can play with friends who play on PC. As well as cross-progression so you can move between mobile and PC and vice versa at your leisure.
