Reveal Trailer Call of Duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a 2021 first-person shooter game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. It was released on November 5 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It serves as the 18th installment in the overall Call of Duty series. Vanguard zombies establishes a storyline featuring the birth of the special forces to face an emerging threat at the end of the war during various theatres of World War II.

What war is Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Call of Duty: Vanguard: A video game victory based in World War II. The single-player story mode drops you right into the action of Call of Duty cold war.

You are part of a team of special forces soldiers trying to commandeer a German train buzzing toward Hamburg. It’s fast and frenetic fighting as you and your five teammates vault back and forth between the cars of two trains propelling ahead in parallel. You must dodge gunfire from Nazis on both rail lines and German military trucks buzzing between the set of tracks.

Your team, led by Sgt. Arthur Kingsley, a Black multilingual British Army officer, discovers that the Germans have some secret plan hatched, with the war winding down not in the Nazis’ favor. Their investigation leads to – semi-spoiler here – the team’s capture and sets up an intriguing story device.

The main characters in the video game Call of Duty: Vanguard, out Nov. 5, include fighter pilot Wade Jackson, Russian sniper Polina Petrova, Sgt. Arthur Kingsley, and Australian explosives expert Lucas Riggs.
As the captured characters are taken in for questioning by a Nazi officer, we get each one’s backstory in flashback. This is a device that doesn’t always work in movies, books or games, but feels appropriate here.

Each character’s hero’s journey involves a different type of mission. Stealth is vital in Kingsley’s goal to rendezvous with fellow paratroopers who landed in France ahead of D-Day. And it’s important again after fighter pilot Wade Jackson crash lands on the Bougainville Island in the Pacific and must make his way through a jungle full of Japanese troops to rescue his gunner.

You will want to focus on a good grenade aim when playing as Australian explosives expert Lucas Riggs, one of the Rats of Tobruk, the Australian troops in North Africa who held off Gen.

How does Call of Duty: Vanguard anti-cheat system work?

Cheating in video games is nothing new, particularly when it comes to online multiplayer games. But the issue has become increasingly problematic since battle royale games started dominating the multiplayer space and one of its biggest victims is the Call of Duty franchise. This resulted in Raven Software implementing Ricochet, its own kernel-level anti-cheating system. Since implementation, the system has managed to ban waves of cheaters. In March alone, Ricochet banned 90,000 cheaters from Call of Duty: Warzone. The latest update on Ricochet suggests that the studio will continue to double down on these efforts.

According to the Ricochet anti-cheat progress report, the system will now feature a cloaking mechanism. This is where cheaters will no longer hear sounds or see other players, characters, and bullets during the game. However, legitimate players will be able to see the affected cheaters. This addition follows a similar approach to Ricochet’s Damage Shield feature, which also gives players an advantage over cheaters in-game.

The update comes as part of the global release of Ricochet’s PC kernel-level anti-cheat security driver which made its way to Call of Duty: Vanguard. The announcement also states that these added functionalities will be implemented to Call of Duty: Warzone after examining how well these updates function. Raven Software claims that this is a necessary step with significant updates to the anti-cheat system and “to minimize any issues players may encounter.”

Dubbed “Classified Arms,” the new update features the iconic King Kong and Godzilla, along with new in-game weapons and gear for players. Nevertheless, as the studio looks to keep building excitement over the franchise with new content, its success will also depend on how effective Raven Software will be in improving the gaming experience.

Is Call of Duty: Vanguard free to play?

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer component will be free to play in its entirety until May 24. This includes over 20 maps, 10 game modes, Arms Race, Ship Haus, and the recently added Mayhem multiplayer map that came with Season 3 last month. The Mayhem multiplayer map has players stomping around a vintage monster movie set, feeling like giants as they fight among a miniature metropolis. It’s recommended to bring along a Trophy System so players can be focused on fighting the enemy rather than on dodging grenades.

Free players will have full access to all the included classic Call of Duty maps as well, such as Dome from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Castle from Call of Duty: World at War, and the legendary Shipment map introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Free players can also compete in Arms Race, a large-map mode where players must capture all the bases to win. Operators respawn at captured bases where they can rearm, grab a vehicle, and head off to the next enemy base. Cash can be earned by capturing objectives or from looting defeated players, allowing players to purchase weapons, equipment, Killstreaks, Field Upgrades, or Custom Loadouts.

The free-to-play period has just begun and will only last for a week, so players will want to begin downloading the roughly 56GB installation as soon as possible to maximize their time in-game. This should be a worthwhile distraction for first-person-shooter fans as the wait for the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues.

How long is the vanguard campaign in Call of Duty: Vanguard?

The Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign isn’t overly long. When we played through, it took me no longer than five hours to race through the nine missions that make up the story. Each of them are a little shorter than 30 minutes in length, although some of them are longer than others. We also ended up dying quite a bit due to playing on the Hardened difficulty, which is the second hardest option.

Five hours seems about on par with how long it’s taking everyone else to finish Call of Duty: Vanguard. The site HLTB [How Long To Beat] tracks how long it takes members of the community to finish games. So far, 17 people have reported their completion times. The average time to complete the Vanguard campaign was 5h 46m. However, other users reported a completion time of 4h 59m when they rushed through it.

There’s not much in the way of collectibles through the Campaign, so once you’ve completed the main story there’s not much reason to replay it. However, there are plenty of trophies to collect that are missable upon your first playthrough.

Of course, there’s also a trophy for completing the campaign on Veteran difficulty in Call of Duty Vanguard, so it’s worth replaying at least once to earn the coveted Platinum title. With the game only being five hours long, that takes the sting out of having to do multiple playthroughs. You can certainly smash through the whole thing in an afternoon.

Call of Duty Vanguard definitely delivers from that angle as Season 1 has a host of weapons ranging from pistols to snipers to be enjoyed by the players. Moreover, the gunplay feels good, and each gun adds a different element over the other and does not feel like mere reskins.
