The end of the Batman and Ben Affleck Movies

Ben Affleck : The Flash 2022 movie will be the end of the Snyderverse Batman

The Flash 2022 movie will be the end of the Snyderverse Batman, according to Ben Affleck who says he’s hanging up the cape and cowl.

Speaking with the Herald Sun about the pressures of the role, he admits it led to an alcohol relapse and subsequently pulling out of his planned Batman solo movie. Affleck also stated in the interview how the reshoots for the Zack Snyder Justice League film and shooting scenes for The Flash really put a nice finish on his experience with that character. #TheFlashMovie will see Ben Affleck reprising his role seen in the Zack Snyder films, Batman.

Snyderverse Batman

Batman is the alias and second identity of billionaire Bruce Wayne, son of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Becoming the Dark Knight, he waged war against crime in Gotham City.

Ben Affleck said “it was really fun and really, really satisfying” playing Batman one last time.

Ben Affleck has played Batman/Bruce Wayne in comic book tentpoles “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Justice League,” but it wasn’t until the production of “The Flash” that he realized how satisfying the role can be. “The Flash” reunites Affleck with Ezra Miller as the eponymous hero, plus it throws Michael Keaton’s iteration of the Caped Crusader into the mix as well. Speaking to The Herald Sun (via IGN), Affleck said “The Flash” is home to the best Batman scenes he’s ever done.

“I have never said this — this is hot off the presses — but maybe my favorite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done were in the Flash movie,” Affleck said. “I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting — different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character.”

If they handed out awards for actors who get the most out of mere minutes of screentime in a feature film, the late Pete Postlethwaite would be an easy contender — for, if nothing else, the florist scene in the 2010 Ben Affleck crime thriller The Town.
