Dota 2 Primal Beast Best Item Build & Abilities: How to play?

With the release of Dota 2’s Primal Beast update, the MOBA saw a significant shakeup. There were new items, buffs and nerfs to heroes, and, of course, the introduction of new stompy strength boy Primal Beast

Dota 2 Primal Beast – Best item build

High-ranking Dota 2 players will know that their item builds will almost depend on unique game circumstances. This includes reacting to the draft of heroes and game pace to the itemization of enemy players.

However, if you’re looking for a base item build, we’ve got you covered. Notably, it is still early in the meta, so many players are still figuring out the best item build for Primal Beast.

Ana’s item build for Primal Beast at the start of Dota 2 patch 7.31.
The following item build was used by Ana in a ranked match played on 24th February. Match ID: 6447057222.

In the pre-game phase, start off by purchasing a set of Tango, an Iron Branch and 2 Gauntlets of Strength. During the landing phase, you will build this into two Bracers. Keep the Bracers into the mid-game to benefit from the double attribute bonuses after minute 25.

Next, build a Soul Ring to ensure you have sufficient Mana to cast your spells. This is critical for most Strength heroes with a low Mana Pool and Intelligence gain. Next, you can build a Magic Wand and purchase Boots of Speed.

By minute 20, Ana had upgraded his Boots to Phase Boots and bought a Blink Dagger. As an Initiator hero, this item is critical. Next, pick up a Black King Bar to protect yourself from counter-initiations. By minute 34, Ana had won the game.

Other late game items that you can purchase include Heart of Tarrasque, Assault Cuirass, Overwhelming Blink, Shiva’s Guard, Radiance, Wraith Pact, and Lotus Orb.

Primal Beast Abilities

After much anticipation, Dota 2’s 7.31 patch has gone live, with a new hero called Primal Beast. In addition to the previously-announced Techies Demolitions rework, the patch notes include a host of more general balance changes, including a big update to the jungle introducing several new creeps to battle.

Primal Beast is a strength hero rated for disabler, durable, and initiator roles. His first ability is Onslaught, a charge which knocks back anyone – enemy or ally – in range, and will damage and stun enemies caught in the effect. Charging the charge will let Primal Beast charge further. Trample creates an AoE damage effect around Primal Beast, which will damage all enemies for 140 units traveled.

Uproar is a passive buff to base bonus damage, and Primal Beast gains additional stacks of the ability each time an enemy hero deals 35 damage or more. You can activate those stacks for a roar that’ll slow nearby enemies and grant bonus attack damage and armour. Pulverize will grab an enemy target, slamming them back to the ground for AoE damage.

Finally, Rock Throw will (you guessed it) throw a rock at a target location, stunning and damaging enemies caught in range of the impact. You can see all those abilities in action on the official site.

Primal Beast gets buffed

New heroes tend to be stronger than the rest of the roster in Dota 2 at release. That wasn’t the case for Primal Beast, however, who had the lowest win rate in the game shortly after its February debut. To answer that problem, Valve released a patch to ensure the hero is on par with others.

When the patch went live on Feb. 24, Primal Beast had an average win rate of 36-39 percent, disastrously low numbers for a new hero in Dota 2. It’s been almost four days since the patch, and Primal Beast win rate climbed up to 45 percent.

Though 45 percent is still a low win rate, it indicates the hero isn’t part of the current meta. Compared to more popular heroes, Primal Beast seems to be having trouble when it comes to scaling into the late game.

Tips on how to play Primal Beast – Primal Beast Tips

Primal Beast is a flexible hero with good scaling and possesses a lot of crowd control. Because of this, he is best suited to the Offlane role, and possibly, the Soft Support role.

This hero’s objective in the offlane is to sustain in lane and farm until he gets his first core item. He has the option of buying the Armlet for team fighting, or a Blink Dagger for easier ganks and initiation.

The new hero can also be played as a soft support, similar to the likes of Earth Spirit and Earthshaker. He might have some issues with mana sustain, which makes Arcane Boots a really good pickup. After gaining a couple of levels, he can easily gank lanes with Onslaught and Trample.

Overall, Primal Beast is a welcome addition to the ever increasing roster of heroes, and players might be delighted (or not) to see him again after his appearance in the Aghanim’s Labyrinth. He’s a fun hero to play, and whether he becomes meta or not is at the mercy of the passionate Dota 2 community.

What is primal beast?

A creature hatched into an existence devoid of all feeling but hunger and pain, aeons of carnage shaped the Primal Beast into the apex predator on a planet filled with violent terrors.

How many Dota 2 Heroes are there?

DOTA 2 currently features 122 heroes, the newest of which being Marci. Most of these heroes are based off of pre-existing heroes from the first Defense of the Ancients. Some heroes such as Monkey King, Pangolier, Dark Willow, Grimstroke and Mars are entirely new heroes not found in the original version of DotA.

Are all heroes in Dota 2 free?

A: Yes, players who don’t want to buy things from the Dota 2 Store will be able to earn them in a variety of ways, such as by simply playing the game, increasing their Battle Level, or by trading with other players. Q: Will I have to pay to get access to heroes? A: All of the heroes will be available free of charge.

Who is the hardest hero in Dota 2?

Earth Spirit is the hardest Dota 2 hero to master if you are still getting used to the game mechanics. Frankly, Earth Spirit is unjustifiably disregarded despite its immense potential as a support hero. He’s durable, has high mobility skills and can deal damage from afar too.
