When you think of competitive and action-packed shooting games, battle royale games are the first genre that would usually come to mind. Why not? Battle royale games provide very competitive gameplay. It’s a game where you get to compete with 99 other players in a battle of survival. Usually, the concept is all 100 players will go to an island where the playable area constantly shrinks after a certain period.
The Best Battle Royale Games
Typically, all players will go to an island either armed only with their fists or a knife. But, fortunately, the island is stacked with various weapons, gear, and items that you can use for surviving. This means you’ll have to explore the island and arm yourself to help you survive and win the match. The ultimate goal in a battle royale game is to emerge as the last player or team standing.

Epic dropped the early access label for the game on June 29, 2020. Versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S were released as launch titles in late 2020.
Probably one of the best and most popular battle royale games that you can play right now is PUBG Mobile. The PC version of the game popularized the genre and now this version is dominating mobile as well. PUBG Mobile offers the typical battle royale game where you and 99 other players are sent to an island for a battle of survival. Each player will go there with nothing but only the clothes on their back. The game offers 5 different maps for players to play.
What’s entertaining about this game is its simplistic, but still realistic graphics and awesome gameplay. Even today, many people still enjoy the gameplay that this battle royale game offers. You’ll also enjoy the various features that this game offers like cool and awesome skins or exciting game modes.
Call of Duty Mobile
Another great battle royale game that you can play is Call of Duty Mobile. It follows the typical battle royale gameplay where 100 players are sent to the island for a battle of survival. But instead of starting with only fists, you will start with a knife. Another thing that’s great about the battle royale of COD Mobile is that you’ll have access to class skills. They’re skills that can provide you with an advantage during the game.
There’s a skill that will allow you to call zombies, launch through the air, become invisible, and more. This adds another layer to the battle royale gameplay, making it more fun and exciting to play. COD Mobile also has other equally exciting and entertaining game modes, so this game is surely worth playing.

Creative destruction (German: schöpferische Zerstörung) is a concept in economics which since the 1950s is the most readily identified with the Austrian-born economist Joseph Schumpeter who derived it from the work of Karl Marx and popularized it as a theory of economic innovation and the business cycle. It is also sometimes known as Schumpeter’s gale.
According to Schumpeter, the “gale of creative destruction” describes the “process of industrial mutation that continuously revolutionizes the economic structure from within, incessantly destroying the old one, incessantly creating a new one”. In Marxian economic theory the concept refers more broadly to the linked processes of the accumulation and annihilation of wealth under capitalism
It may have started out as a joke, but the game formally known as Cuisine Royale is still pulling in steady player counts more than a year after its initial launch. The secret to their success? PUBG-like gameplay, steady updates that bring fresh content to the game, and a cosmetics-only free-to-play model.
CRSED also offers its own tweaks to the established battle royale games formula. The most obvious one is that instead of military armour and equipment, every player has to use pots, pans, and various other pieces of kitchenware to keep themselves safe from bullets. Other neat tweaks like a severely reduced player count and simple WW2 games-inspired weaponry keep fights simple and competitive. If you’re looking for a semi-realistic, free-to-play BR game, then CRSED: F.O.A.D. is one of the best currently around.
FALL GUYS: ULTIMATE KNOCKOUT
Fall Guys borrows elements from the battle royale genre and the hit Japanese game show, Takeshi’s Castle, to create something completely unique. Bringing together 60 contestants, each player must defeat their fellow jelly beans in a mad dash for the finish line, but only the top number of players can progress through each round to eventually be crowned victorious. The challenges aren’t always obstacle courses either, they range from memorisation games, clinging to a platform for dear life, and even an oversized football match which splits players into two separate teams.
The beauty of Fall Guys is that no matter how skilled you are, almost anyone can win and that random factor is what makes Fall Guys so entertaining. Even if you don’t win, you’ll have a good story to tell. While the popularity of Fall Guys has dropped off since it launched back in August 2020, the game is still incredibly popular. The developers continue to release new content every few months like skins and challenges, and they listen to community feedback to fine tune the experience for new and experienced players alike.
Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in February 2019, for Nintendo Switch in March 2021, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022. A mobile version of the game specially designed for touchscreens titled Apex Legends Mobile has also been announced which was released May 17, 2022 on Android and iOS. The game supports cross-platform play, excluding the mentioned mobile platforms.
Before the match, players form into two- or three-player squads, and select from pre-designed characters with distinctive abilities, known as “Legends”. The game has two gameplay modes. In “Battle Royale“, up to 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos land on an island and search for weapons and supplies before attempting to defeat all other players in combat. The available play area on the island shrinks over time, forcing players to keep moving or else find themselves outside the play area which can be fatal. The final team alive wins the round. In “Arenas”, players form into three-player squads and fight against another squad in a 3v3 team deathmatch over a series of rounds to determine the winner of the match. Teams win when their team has at least 3 points and is 2 points ahead.
PUBG: Battlegrounds (previously known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or simply PUBG) is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Studios, a subsidiary of Krafton. The game is based on previous mods that were created by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene for other games, inspired by the 2000 Japanese film Battle Royale, and expanded into a standalone game under Greene’s creative direction. In the game, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game’s map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters. The last surviving player (or team) wins the round. This is the first game in the series, named PUBG Universe.
But there are a lot of battle royale games, so much so that it can be hard to narrow down which ones are the best.
In February 2021, Fortnite generated 127 million hours of watched online video content, ranking first among all the battle royale games across major live streaming platforms worldwide.
While choosing the absolute “best” battle royale game is difficult and comes down to personal preference, Apex Legends makes the strongest case.
Apex Legends is another in a long line of Battle Royale games, but it’s also one that came out of nowhere and surprised many. This is a Battle Royale shooter created by the team behind Titanfall. It quickly proved to be one of the most popular shooters in the genre and in the world.
