Far Cry 6 Stranger Things DLC Review (The Vanishing Mission)

Warning:- Before we can get into the Review of the Stranger Things DLC in Far Cry 6, here is something you will need to know. This review will contain minor spoilers so if you don’t want the DLC to get spoiled then click off from this Review.

Now that’s out of the way, here is my Review on the Stranger Things DLC in Far Cry 6. The DLC is a Mission line that takes you through Netflix’s Stranger Things show. Those who have seen the show will instantly realize what is happening and what must be done.

Story of the Far Cry 6 Stranger Things DLC

The story of the Stranger Things DLC in Far Cry 6 begins just after the collapse of the USSR. This is important as the Russians were carrying out scientific experiments that led to the opening of the Shadow Place. This is the Upside Down for the Stranger Things Fans. At the beginning of the Mission, Dani notices that many of her fellow Guerrillas have disappeared. The locals say that a Creature is behind all of this. Your main objective is to find the missing Guerrillas. Early in the Story, you hear a Woman’s voice in your head. That’s Shest’, a strange Russian Woman, who psychically contacts you and tells you that your Comrades are in the Shadow Place.

Mission – The Vanishing
The Mission that pops up to start the DLC is the Vanishing. This Mission is located in West Madrugada. Before you can start the Mission, you will have to satisfy some prerequisites.

HOW TO START THE STRANGER THINGS MISSION IN FAR CRY 6

You need to complete the tutorial mission at Isla Santuario in Far Cry 6 before you can start the Stranger Things The Vanishing DLC.

Once you’ve completed the tutorial and unlocked the guerilla camp, you will receive a call from Juan while at camp. The mission is called The Vanishing and it can also be accessed from Journal and Yaran Stories.

The first objective for The Vanishing asks you to head to Rio de Plata to find out why your guerillas have disappeared along with a C-4 shipment. The mission is only about an hour long overall so it shouldn’t take too much time to complete.

As for what’s involved, the publisher’s blog post says that the DLC introduces a stealth-horror-survival gameplay experience along with mysterious characters and lore. There are new locations inspired by Stranger Things, and your goal is to find Chorizo and the abducted Yarans.

How Long Does It Take to Beat Far Cry 6’s Story?

According to HowLongtoBeat, the average player finishes the main story in around 22 1/2 hours, with faster players managing to get things finished by around 15 hours. Those looking to take a more leisurely approach to completing the main story will do so in around 27-28 hours, and if players complete the Main Story while also accessing extras and side quests, they can expect to spend around 35 hours in Yara’s lush South American setting.

These playtimes are consistently above those boasted by the previous installment in the series, Far Cry 5, a game with an average main story completion time that clocked in at 17 hours. A longer time is to be expected considering that Ubisoft is now producing games with vast expanses of terrain and massive numbers of side quests predominantly for a new generation of consoles.

Far Cry 6 is by no means the biggest or most involved game released by Ubisoft in recent years. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey offers a map of around 90.7 square miles and an average main story finishing time of 44 hours. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, meanwhile, clocks in its average story completion time at nearly 60 hours.

FC6 clearly wants to be a more socially responsible game than its predecessors

FC6 clearly wants to be a more socially responsible game than its predecessors and – to its credit – it does make an effort to tackle some social issues, even if the script might stumble a bit over the reality of some of those moments. But it still feels trapped between presenting an authentic representation of Latin American culture and a gonzo’d-up version designed to please mainstream Western audiences. The world itself seems like a gorgeous rendition of South and Central American life, but the script sometimes relies so heavily on specific colloquialisms that it feels like it borders on caricature. Or, more egregiously, there’s the cockfighting minigame that’s basically Mortal Kombat with chickens.

While previous Far Cry games have mostly pitted us against pirates, mercenaries, and cultists (not to mention mutants, evil cavemen, and cyber commandos), Far Cry 6 makes its bad guys a properly organized and equipped army. It’s a little straight–laced, given the series’ origins, but it also provides more diverse and engaging encounters. Enemy Captains can call in reinforcements or airstrikes to flush you out of your sniper’s nest, while Medics will revive wounded comrades and engineers will mount auto-turrets. They’re a good addition to the usual roster of “shotgun guy, molotov guy, and heavy guy” that gives you interesting reasons to prioritize your targets beyond simply “who might see or shoot at me next.”

Far Cry 6 Weapons

Weapons are plentiful in Far Cry 6. Along with the typical guns, such as the AK-47 assault rifle, Spas-12 automatic shotgun and SVD sniper rifle, there are unique guns that have their own perks. There are also Revolver weapons, which are high-tech and only made available by collecting uranium.

The Supremo is another fun weapon type. It’s a backpack that can deal damage or offer other benefits. The Exterminator is the first one available, and it launches several rockets to wherever you have trained your crosshairs. Far Cry 6 offers the best selection of weapons in the series thus far.

Is the Stranger Things DLC free in Far Cry 6?

Fary Cry 6 now has an awesome new Stranger Things DLC available for all players. Best of all, the DLC is completely free and lets players explore new regions, use new weapons and fight deadly Stranger Things creatures across a distorted Upside-Down island.

How to start the Stranger Things mission in Far Cry 6. You need to complete the tutorial mission at Isla Santuario in Far Cry 6 before you can start the Stranger Things The Vanishing DLC. Once you’ve completed the tutorial and unlocked the guerilla camp, you will receive a call from Juan while at camp.

Is the Far Cry 6 Stranger Things?

Far Cry 6’s crossover mission with Stranger Things, “The Vanishing,” is now available to owners, and the whole game (with the mission) is free for anyone to play from 2 p.m. EDT on Thursday until Sunday.

Is Far Cry 6 a long game?

Far Cry games are notorious for their deep levels of content, but Far Cry 6 is a pretty long game even by Ubisoft’s sprawling standards. It boasts the biggest map of any installment thus far and will take players dozens of hours to explore, let alone complete its mammoth story missions and side-quests.
