Powerball jackpot spikes to second-largest in history, $2 million ticket sold in Florida

The Powerball jackpot has spiked to an estimated $1.73 billion for the next drawing on Wednesday night, making it the second-largest jackpot in U.S. history.

The jackpot has been growing for 35 drawings, and there has not been a winner since July 19th. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

While there was no jackpot winner in the Monday night drawing, there was a ticket sold in Florida that matched all five white balls and increased the $1 million prize to $2 million by including the Power Play feature for an additional $1 per play.

The winning ticket was sold at the Publix located at 9359 Sheridan Street in Hollywood, Florida.

If you are the lucky winner of the $2 million ticket, you must sign the back of the ticket and contact the Florida Lottery to claim your prize. You have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim your prize.

The Powerball jackpot is the second-largest jackpot in U.S. history, only behind the $2.04 billion jackpot that was won in California in November 2022.
