Kim Kardashian Jokes About Sex Tape Kanye West on SNL + Tackles O.J. Simpson

Kim Kardashian West Tackles O.J. Simpson, Divorce From Kanye in ‘Saturday Night Live’ Monologue

The season 47 host and influencer also took shots at Caitlyn Jenner’s recent campaign for California governor and her own sex tape during the Oct. 9 show.

Kim Kardashian West kicked off her Saturday Night Live hosting gig with an opening monologue that addressed and largely roasted many of her and her family’s past and present controversies.

That includes throwing comedic jabs about O.J. Simpson and offering a take on what ultimately drove her and her ex, Kanye West, to their divorce.

After discussing her awareness around her “privilege,” Kardashian West noted that she has made “getting wrongly accused people out of jail” a personal mission, before speaking about how her father Robert Kardashian has been an influence on social work.

“M father was and still is such an influence and inspiration to me and I credit him with really opening up my eyes to racial injustice. It’s because of him that I met my first black person,” Kardashian West said to laughs before launching into a joke about O.J. Simpson. “Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was?”

The influencer and reality TV star went further, adding, “I know it’s sort of weird to remember the first black person you met but OJ does leave a mark — or several. Or not at all. I still don’t know.”

Later in her monologue, she addressed her divorce from Kanye, but started out by calling the rapper the best “of all time” before noting that he’s “the richest black man in America” and a “talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.”

“When I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality,” she said. “I know that sounds mean but people keep telling me that comedy comes from truth. And if there’s one thing that I always strive to be, it’s genuine.”

At the start of her monologue, Kardashian West addressed her infamous leaked sex tap, sharing that she was also surprised to be hosting, and had asked the SNL team why considering “I haven’t had a movie premiere and a really long time.”

Kim Kardashian Jokes About Sex Tape, Kanye West and O.J. Simpson on SNL

Kim Kardashian West made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut with a monologue that poked fun at her own family, estranged husband Kanye West and even O.J. Simpson.

“I know, I’m surprised to see me here, too,” she began her monologue. “I mean, I haven’t had a movie premiere in a really long time.”

She went on: “I’m so excited to to be here tonight to show you guys that I’m so much more than just a pretty face… and good hair, and great makeup, and amazing boobs, and a perfect butt. Basically, I’m just so much more than that reference photo my sisters showed their plastic surgeons.”

Kardashian West then declared that the she’s really proud that “no one can ever call me a gold digger” since she’s earned her own fortune. “Honestly, I’m not even sure how you become one,” she added. “So I asked my mom’s boyfriend Corey.”

The reality television star and billionaire entrepreneur went on to say that she has been “very lucky in life” and awareness of her privilege led to her work in criminal justice reform.

“I know that I’m privileged, which is why I try to give back as much as I can,” she said. “A real passion of mine is getting wrongly accused people out of jail.”

Kardashian West, who is studying law, then explained how she was following in her late father Robert Kardashian’s footsteps.

“My father was, and still is, such an influence and inspiration to me and I credit him with really opening up my eyes to racial injustice,” she said.

“It’s because of him that I met my first Black person. Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was? I know it’s sort of weird to remember the first Black person you met but O.J. does leave a mark. Or several, or none at all. I still don’t know.”

Robert Kardashian helped represent Simpson, who was acquitted of two counts of murder in the fatal stabbings of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and Ronal Goldman. A civil court jury later found him liable and ordered him to pay $33.5 million.

Kardashian West also took aim at her estranged husband’s failed run for president and her stepparent Caitlyn Jenner‘s unsuccessful bid to become California’s governor.

Kim Kardashian West hosting Saturday Night Live is part infomercial and all deadly

Many Kardashians and all the celebrity cameos crowd out any slim hopes for a decent episode

Just trying to piece this together in real time, Wendy.”
“I’m not an actor! I’m a [surreally famous reality] star!!”

During tonight’s goodnights, Kim Kardashian West thanked her family for being good sports. And, indeed, her monologue was a tumble of self-roasting Kardashian jokes, indicating that the influencer and her like-minded but not quite as successful clan had collectively decided to get ahead of the wave by allowing Kim to read out some of the Saturday Night Live writers’ moderately cutting one-liners.

So why does it feel like it’s we Saturday Night Live viewers who were the real butts of the joke?

Kim Kardashian West Roasted Her Entire Family In Her SNL Monologue

Love her or not, Kim Kardashian West fully committed to her Saturday Night Live hosting debut.

During the Oct. 10 episode, featuring Halsey as the musical guest, the KKW Beauty mogul entered in a pink lace bodysuit and wasted no time poking fun at herself — and her entire KarJenner clan.

“I know, I know, I’m surprised to see me here too,” she began her monologue. “I haven’t had a movie premiere in a really long time,” she said coyly, referencing her infamous home video. “No one told me it was even premiering. It must’ve slipped my mom’s mind,” she said, nodding to previous accusations that it was her momager, Kris Jenner, who released the tape.

She then made the rounds roasting different family members. She wanted people to know she’s “much more than just a pretty face,” she beckoned, before adding, “I’m just so much more than that reference photo my sisters showed their plastic surgeons.”

Even her mom’s romantic interests — previous and current — weren’t spared. She’s proud that she isn’t a gold-digger, she said, and in fact, doesn’t know how to be one. “So I asked my mom’s boyfriend Corey [Gamble].”

“Listen, I’m an influencer. I understand the things that I say carry weight,” before going, “Remember, I’m a Kim, not a Karen,” she said before commending (or should we say kommending) Kris for knowing to steer clear of the name Karen despite having an affinity for “K”s. Unfortunately for her mom, she didn’t predict a certain name change. “I don’t know how she saw that coming and not Caitlyn [Jenner].” She came for Kris’ ex-spouse again who ran for governor with the line, “No, I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family.”

It’s also a jab at her ex-spouse, rapper Kanye West.

Despite publicly going through a divorce, she continued with another stab at West in her monologue. “I’ve been very blessed in this life. I married the best rapper of all time,” she said, before listing off his qualities as a “talented, legit genius,” and “the richest Black man.” “So when I divorced him, it came down to just one thing. His personality.”

She ended her speech by saying she’s “so used” to having her 258 million followers “watching my every move,” before going, “So tonight is a really chill night for me.”

Prior to the show, KKW’s Twitter announcement that she’ll be hosting caused quite a stir, dividing viewers on their stance on SNL’s host choice. But her performance surprised even her staunchest critics and they took to Twitter to commend her and the show’s writers.
