Marvel Rivals Update Brings Path to Doomsday: Age of Ultron
NetEase Games has officially launched a new Marvel Rivals update for PS5, introducing the highly anticipated Path to Doomsday Avengers: Age of Ultron mode. Serving as the second chapter in a multi-part series leading up to the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday, this July 30, 2026 event debuts a cooperative PvE experience alongside a newly designed Avengers Tower map and cinematic cosmetic items for Ultron and Scarlet Witch.
The game’s developers noted that this PvE format was designed to be much more approachable than the competitive PvP mode featured in the first chapter. In the game’s evolving lore, players are tasked with defending Avengers Tower against a massive, overwhelming invasion by Ultron’s robot army. However, the developers confirmed that this specific PvE mode is currently inaccessible for players on the PS4 platform.
Times Square Events and Screenings
Players can travel to the Times Square viewing area in-game to catch classic scenes broadcasted from the Avengers: Age of Ultron film. Watching the footage for two continuous minutes automatically rewards players with an exclusive spray cosmetic. Additionally, taking a group picture with the non-playable characters stationed at the iconic photo walls near the Avengers’ Gift Shop instantly grants 100 in-game Units.
Spider-Man Day Celebrations & Store Bundles
A dedicated “Spider-Man Day” section has been added to the storefront to honor the character’s initial comic appearance. Fans can browse and acquire a large selection of classic Spider-Man outfits to customize their web-slinger. The highly requested Peter Parker: The Photographer bundle is also making a temporary, limited-time return to the shop for the duration of the event.
