While the modern battle royale genre is dominated by seamless cross-platform unity, KRAFTON’s pioneering shooter operates under a surprisingly fragmented set of rules.
So, is PUBG cross platform today? The honest, if slightly convoluted, answer is yes—but with hard limitations. Instead of a single, unified matchmaking pool, the developer has partitioned the player base into three completely separate ecosystems. The Harsh Reality of Cross-Progression
While competing live-service games allow you to carry your cosmetics and stats seamlessly across any device, PUBG remains firmly planted in the past. Cross-progression simply does not exist.
If you migrate from an Xbox Series X to a high-end gaming PC, you are starting entirely from scratch. Your in-game items, K/D ratio, and unlocks are permanently tied to the platform family where you earned them.
Ultimately, PUBG in 2026 demands that you choose your battlefield carefully. Coordinate with your squad before investing hundreds of hours, because KRAFTON’s walled gardens aren’t coming down anytime soon.
