Solving Octordle today

When you’re solving for many — such as 8 words at a time — it is extremely likely that the most common letters are present in several of the words. It’s also very likely that the less common letters are in at least some of them (and the rarest letters, such as Q, X, or Z, may be in one or two).

This changes what it means to cover the broadest range of possibilities. You could still start with TASER or ADIEU, but the information is less useful. What’s more helpful is to aim for those less common (but not rare) letters, so that you have at least one word that you can solve easily in the next guess— ideally using some common letters. That will help you with the remaining words.
