BTS<\/strong><\/a> scooped up the most trophies of the night on Saturday at the Mnet Asian Music Awards<\/strong><\/span>, the region\u2019s largest music awards ceremony.<\/p>\n The event known as MAMA<\/strong>, which was offered as a global live stream telecast via YouTube and a host of other platforms, also hailed artists such as Ed Sheeran<\/strong> and Wanna One<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cFor all of those who had difficult times this year, to share strength and comfort, we tried new things in making music and we worked really hard,\u201d BTS<\/strong> said during their acceptance speech. \u201c\u2018Butter<\/strong>\u2019 and \u2018Permission to Dance<\/strong>\u2019 gained enormous love this year, we will share this honor with everyone who worked hard to make great music and performances with us.\u201d<\/p>\n Singer and TV personality Lee Hyori<\/strong>, MAMA\u2019s first female host, opened the ceremony that originated from Hong Kong, as MAMA has since 2012.<\/p>\n She was followed by a performance by fourth-generation idols Hyunjin of Stray Kids<\/strong>, Wooyoung<\/strong> of ATEEZ<\/strong><\/a>, Yeji<\/strong> of ITZY<\/strong>, Yeonjun<\/strong> of TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Karina<\/strong> of aespa<\/strong> and Heeseung<\/strong> of Enhypen<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Additionally, \u201cBad Habits\u201d singer Sheeran performed a mashup of his hit single along with \u201cShivers\u201d from his new album \u201cEquals.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n\n\nThe honors for BTS included album of the year, artist of the year, song of the year and worldwide icon of the year.<\/h4>\n
