Elon Musk<\/strong><\/a>, the richest person in the world, has said he will sell six billion dollars (\u00a34.4 billion) worth of Tesla<\/strong><\/a> stock and donate the proceeds to the United Nations\u2019 food agency if it can show how the money would solve world hunger.<\/p>\n His statement came after UN World Food Programme (WFP<\/strong>) executive director David Beasley<\/strong> challenged Mr Musk<\/strong>, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos<\/strong><\/a> and other billionaires in a CNN interview last week, calling on them to step up on \u201ca one-time basis\u201d to help end starvation.<\/p>\n In the interview, Mr Beasley<\/strong> said billionaires<\/strong> could give \u201csix billion dollars to help 42 million people that are literally going to die if we don\u2019t reach them\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n
