The \u201cWe Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert\u201d marked a long-awaited return to post-pandemic normalcy and music lovers were ready to celebrate the scene and sounds, even as darkening storm clouds blotted out the sunlight and moved in over the skyscrapers of Billionaires\u2019 Row at the southern end of Central Park.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great seeing the sun come up, very beautiful and peaceful,\u201d said Michael Dinger, 49, of Tappan, a \u201cconcert photography enthusiast\u201d who arrived at 6 a.m. sporting a Bob Marley T-shirt. He was the first person on line at the East 72nd Street entrance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt may be a little early but I\u2019m happy to be with people and hear live music for a change \u2026 who knows how long this can happen,\u201d said Dinger.<\/p>\n

Some of music’s biggest names to take part in ‘We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert.’ Here’s how to watch<\/span><\/h2>\n

Some of music’s biggest names will descend on the Great Lawn at New York City’s iconic Central Park for the “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert” on Saturday to perform for a vaccinated crowd of 60,000.
The concert is meant to be “a celebration of New York City’s comeback” after a challenging 17 months marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and will “promote health, safety, and equity,” according to a press release for the show.<\/p>\n

The event, which is being aired exclusively on CNN, is produced by legendary music executive Clive Davis in coordination with the city of New York and Live Nation. The coverage begins with a pre-show hosted by Anderson Cooper at 4 p.m. ET, with the concert kicking off at 5pm.<\/p>\n

Proof of vaccination required to attend
About 80% of the tickets for the event were distributed free of charge. With Covid-19 cases on the rise due to the Delta variant, all attendees who are age 12 or over must present proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Children who are not yet eligible for vaccination must provide proof of a negative Covid test.<\/p>\n
