A Genshin Impact<\/strong> leak hints at several new characters who may be joining the game’s roster in the near future. miHoYo’s beloved action role-playing game features an ever-evolving cast of playable characters, with new heroes unlocked through a gacha vending machine system. New heroes are always an exciting addition for fans, with Genshin Impact<\/strong> character leaks often predicting who will be added in the title’s next update.<\/p>\n

How is Character design in Genshin Impact?<\/h2>\n

Unique character design is one of Genshin Impact’s main draws which has made the game such a global success with a player base that keeps growing with each day. Genshin Impact character leaks also help create a lot of hype for most characters even months before their official release.<\/p>\n

Each update has its beta phase that begins at the start of the previous update. Developer miHoYo has introduced an interesting pattern of officially announcing new characters on the day a beta starts, probably because they would get leaked either way. Genshin Impact’s social media accounts have confirmed Yae Miko as the brand new Electro character that will arrive in update 2.5.<\/p>\n

A popular character named Yelan has appeared in multiple Genshin Impact leaks which means that she could arrive in the following updates. A recent tweet from the popular leaker named SaveYourPrimos subReddit has revealed more information including a possible release in update 2.7 around mid-May. When it comes to her combat capabilities, she is expected to be a new Hydro bow user which would make her the first character that uses this element-weapon combination.<\/p>\n

Yelan will most likely be a five-star character that will arrive alongside a Genshin Impact double banner re-run. According to another Genshin Impact leaker named Ubatcha1, these leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt, especially considering that update 2.7 is still months away.<\/p>\n

Yelan will apparently not be the only Hydro character to arrive in the upcoming updates as many leaks are already predicting the arrival of Ayaka’s brother, Kamisato Ayato, the head of the Kamisato clan. The majority of the Genshin Impact community thought that it was Ayaka who was pulling the strings in the Kamisato clan, though the recent story quests have revealed that it’s actually Ayato who works in the background while assuming leadership tasks. The fact that Ayato is a Hydro character means that he could have great synergy with his sister Ayaka who has a unique playstyle.<\/p>\n

Just like Yelan, he will most likely be a new five-star character arriving after update 2.5 which will likely feature the fan-favorite character Yae Miko. Ayato fans have had their moments a couple of weeks ago as the new Arataki Itto character teaser included a couple of Ayato’s voice lines. This is usually miHoYo’s way of announcing that a new character will join the playable character roster in the foreseeable future, giving fans a good reason to be excited.<\/p>\n

He will apparently arrive alongside a four-star character named Heizou, though not much is known about him other than that he’s a detective of sorts, working for the Tenryou Commission in Inazuma. His unique way of investigating often gives the impression that he puts his own priorities over duties which makes him disliked by his superiors such as the well-known character Kojou Sara.<\/p>\n

WHO IS GENSHIN IMPACT\u2019S YELAN?<\/h3>\n

Yelan is a name that has circulated throughout the Genshin community for some time now, with many assigning it to a mysterious blue-haired figure originally seen in the Moonchase Festival trailer after a tweet from respected leaker Ubatcha (note that Mihoyo hasn\u2019t confirmed that this is actually Yelan). The woman in the video holds some resemblance to Honkai Impact 3rd\u2019s Fu Hua, while also holding some unique visual traits that have led to even more theory-crafting and speculation.<\/p>\n

Genshin Impact leaks confirmed that dataminers have found skeleton code in-game, casting Yelan as a \u2018woman\u2019 hitbox, meaning it likely won\u2019t be too long until she makes an appearance. There are also traces of data suggesting that Yelan will wield a brand new type of weapon in game \u2013 the crossbow. The hype is real.<\/p>\n

Genshin Impact players already know the banners for Genshin Impact 2.3, so Yelan will not be a playable character in that version. Some leakers stated that Yelan appeared briefly in the Moonchase Festival (shown in the above image).<\/p>\n

Genshin Impact has had more obvious inspirations before, such as Yae Miko looking a lot like Yae Sakura. Yelan is referenced in the in-game data, but there is no valuable data to decipher (compared to leaked characters like Itto).<\/p>\n

She is able to use something called an Alternative Sprint \u2013 replacing the regular sprint of a character with one that has additional effects. In Ayaka\u2019s case, depending on how it\u2019s implemented, it can sync up with a few of her attacks to deal additional Cryo damage.<\/p>\n

Her skills and abilities hint that she\u2019s going to be a DPS focused character, using tons of Cryo elemental effects. Mona is a natural pairing since her Hydro skills set up Ayaka\u2019s followup Cyro effects to freeze enemies on the spot, but there are several other abilities available. Early datamines suggest that Yelan will wield a crossbow \u2013 a new weapon type that will perform differently from the game\u2019s bow. Renowned leaker, @Ubatcha1, found that \u201cthere are actually multiple new weapon types being discussed, the crossbow is one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Yelan could be Genshin\u2019s first crossbow specialist, miHoYo could change this before she goes live in a future update.<\/p>\n

While we could be skeptical of this. Crossbows, by nature, are naturally much slower than loading Bows. It could be difficult to imagine how this could play into Genshin Impact\u2019s fast paced gameplay.<\/p>\n

As for her Vision and abilities, we have yet to get any concrete information. Considering that miHoYo has added an abundance of Geo characters recently, we could guess that Yelan may be a Pyro or Anemo character.<\/p>\n
