GameStop PS5 restock date, time and locations: How much is the price?

Attempting to Buy the PS5 from GameStop + Target – PlayStation 5 Restock Stream

Wait no more! GameStop PS5 restock is finally coming this May 28 after a drought of the Sony gaming console in the retailer for the whole month.

GameStop PS5 restock date and time

GameStop will have a restock today, Saturday, May 28. It’ll happen at most stores (like it has during the past two restocks), but demand may surge because the PS5 console hasn’t been in stock nationwide at any major retailer for all of May 2022 except for the brief Amazon PS5 restock.

What time is the GameStop PS5 restock? When your local store usually opens, so anywhere from 9am to 12pm local time (most GameStop stores in the US open at 10am or 11am – several major cities have 9am opening times). Our local GameStop stores in New York City, for example, open at 9am, and they have more PS5 Disc consoles than the average (the paper says 16 and 24 at the two locations).

GameStop PS5 restock store locations

GameStop stores in all 50 continental US states will sell the PS5, even Nebraska and Wyoming. Of course, the most PS5 stock can be found in New York, California and Texas. Hawaii and Alaska aren’t on the list this time around.

The biggest problem is that GameStop didn’t make the official announcement about this until yesterday, meaning most people won’t see the PS5 restock news in time. That’s why my exclusive reporting continues to help people prepare to line up, and if you don’t make it to this restock, the Walmart PS5 restock is next.

GameStop PS5 Restock Bundle: What To Expect

The restock is in the form of two bundles, including the PS5 Digital and the standard version of PS5.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JANUARY 27: GameStop store signage is seen on January 27, 2021 in New York City.
It is worth noting that the giant gaming retailer has kept mum about including its upcoming bundle. So, whatever games are paired with the gaming console should surprise its customers until they are already in line before the store opens on Saturday.

Despite the unconfirmed bundle inclusions, GameSpot bared how much the two bundles could likely cost its buyers. The standard PS5 bundle should retail roughly around $600, whereas the Digital counterpart sells to the tune of $500.

The iconic gaming retailer is fond of selling PS5 restocks in a bundle, which includes their chosen games. However, there was a time that the bundle carried more exciting stuff like PS Plus subscriptions, fancy controllers, and even Gift Cards.

PS5 Stocks
The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, has recently said they plan to ramp up PS5 production in 2022. However, he notes that “COVID-rated uncertainties persist, specifically in the impact that ongoing lockdowns in Shanghai and Beijing might have.”

However, the pronouncements of Ryan during the PlayStation business briefing last May 26 hopefully suggest that we are getting more restocks in the coming months.

What else will you get in a PS5 Stocks Bundle?

VideoGameDeals on Twitter shared several possible bundle combinations of PS5 restock for the upcoming sale. Keep in mind, however, that this is just a leak and could prove to be untrue. Provided it checks out, the tweet mentions three primary bundles, five alternate bundles, and two “all-digital console bundles.” The primary bundles, aside from the PS5 console, are rumored to come with a DualSense controller, “Gran Turismo 7,” a PS5 Pulse 3D wireless headset, and either “MLB The Show 22,” “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart,” “Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut,” or $10 credit for PlayStation Network purchases.

The alternate bundles of PS5 restock seem to contain mostly the same games alongside the Pulse 3D headset and DualSense controller, alongside $70 or $50 GameStop gift cards. The last bundle is referred to as having “All Digital Currency,” including a PS5 console as well as $175 worth of PlayStation Network credit, 12 months of PlayStation Plus, and a $50 GameStop gift card. Lastly, the all-digital console bundles are much the same as the “Currency” option. They bring some digital goodies (such as PlayStation Network credit or PlayStation Plus), but one also comes with a charging station, controller, and wireless headset. All in all, it would appear that there will be a lot to choose from.

The bundles of PS5 restock are certainly fun, but there is no telling how much the price of the console will be affected. In general, buying things in a bundle always makes for a better deal, but if you were hoping to get your new PlayStation 5 at MSRP, you will likely need to come prepared to spend a couple more hundred dollars to get these goodies.

How much is PS5 Stocks cost?

GameStop is also notorious for selling its allocation of PS5 consoles in pre-built bundles and this restock will continue that trend. There will be three bundles available during this in-store event. The cheapest will cost $718 while the other two will cost $812. All three come with a PS5 Disc console, an additional DualSense controller, and a copy of Gran Turismo 7, as well as additional items that differ depending on the bundle.

GameStop has been “making” PS5 bundles ever since the console launched, but the first real PS5 bundle from Sony should be available at major retailers soon. The bundle comes with a digital copy of Horizon Forbidden West and costs $450 (PS5 Digital) or $550 (standard PS5).

PS5 restock top tips

We’ve been tracking PS5 restock drops since the console first launched, so we’ve picked up a thing or two when it comes to getting those boxes to checkout. You’ll find all our top tips from over a year’s worth of stock hunting just below.

1. Know when to look
This is especially pertinent right now, considering we’ve seen so few PS5 stock drops in the last few weeks. However, it’s worth noting that when one retailer offers up a rare drop, others will usually follow. Whether that’s because shipments have arrived, or due to seasonal events, we tend to see PS5 restocks take place in flurries, so keep an eye out during periods of peak activity.

2. Choose your retailer
It’s becoming more and more important to stick to a particular retailer. That’s because many stores have introduced exclusive PS5 stock drops for paid members or subscription holders. That means you’ll want to choose a retailer and stick with them, springing for a monthly membership to gain access to these rare drops.

3. Sign in and save your information
Once you’ve found your retailer and got your membership, it’s worth signing into your accounts ahead of time and staying signed in. Save your payment and shipping information (you can always delete it once you’ve got that shiny new console in hand) for the fastest checkout experience.

4. Keep that refresh button warm
Once a PS5 restock does hit, it won’t be pretty. There’s no elegant way around it, we’ve had the best success simply by brute forcing our way through the digital crowds. Keep refreshing the page and build up a bank of tabs doing the same thing.

PS5 restocks almost never happen on weekends, unless they’re announced ahead of time. If a restock starts and you immediately see “Out of Stock” on the screen, do not give up. Refresh the screen a few times and keep trying. Some retailers release the consoles in waves to keep bots from getting all of them..
