Google Pixel 11 Pro XL: Release Date, Specs, and Leaks

Made by Google Event & Launch Timeline

Google has officially confirmed the Made by Google event for August 12, 2026 in New York City, with the Pixel 11 Pro XL expected to headline the Pro tier. A separate leak from French outlet Dealabs — historically reliable for accurate pre-order pricing — suggests retail availability begins August 20, 2026, with pre-orders opening the same day as the announcement. The pricing for the lineup is estimated as follows: … Pixel 11 Pro XL: $1,299.

Display & Design Architecture

6.8-inch OLED display with 2992×1344 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. 6.8″, 2,450 nits, M16 panel. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Android 17 will be pre-installed on the phone, while the device will be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

Tensor G6 & Core Hardware

Google is expected to equip the Pixel 11 family with Tensor G6, reportedly manufactured by TSMC on a 2nm process. Leaks also point to a MediaTek M90 modem and Google’s Titan M3 security hardware. The important question isn’t whether Tensor G6 wins benchmark charts. Efficiency, heat and cellular performance have been recurring considerations with Tensor-powered Pixels. A new manufacturing process and modem give Google another opportunity to improve all three. 12/16GB RAM. 1024 GB storage.

Battery & Charging Efficiency

The Pixel 11 Pro XL reportedly uses a 5,115mAh battery, so Google doesn’t appear to be relying on a dramatically larger battery to improve endurance. Google isn’t meaningfully growing the battery this generation, and is betting the 2nm Tensor G6’s efficiency gains offset whatever the real number turns out to be. Up to 45W.

120x Zoom & Triple Camera Array

Current leaks point to a familiar triple-camera configuration for the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL: a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide with macro support and 48MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to remain at 42MP. Finally, we’ve heard rumors that the previous 100x digital zoom will be upgraded all the way to 120x for the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL. This would certainly be a big leap, but as AI technology progresses, it’s certainly possible.

Google Pixel 11 Pro vs. Pixel 10 Pro: Biggest Upgrades to Expect

A data-driven comparison of the Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro, covering Tensor G6 2nm architecture, battery changes, RAM downgrades, and price hikes.

Performance Architecture: Tensor G6 vs. Tensor G5

Tensor G5 brought a major manufacturing change by moving Google’s flagship processor production from Samsung to TSMC. A major change that I’m excited for is the upcoming Tensor G6 2nm SoC built by TSMC. Rumors indicate that the new chip might adopt a more efficient 1+4+2 core structure. It’s also supposed to have a new MediaTek-built modem, so connectivity should be better. The Pixel 11 Pro should also support Vulkan, leading to improved gaming performance.

Display Enhancements and Form Factor

Both phones are expected to share the same 6.3-inch 120Hz Super Actua OLED display, IP68 water and dust resistance, 30W wired fast charging speed, magnetic Qi2.2 New advanced M16 OLED panel for a brighter display and more accurate colors. Slightly slimmer, all-black camera bar redesign. One thing that stood out, however, is the presence of a small, colored light in the camera bar that wasn’t there on the Pixel 10 Pro. This is rumored to be part of a new ‘Pixel Glow’ system that will use colored lights to convey basic phone notifications while the Pixel is lying down on its face.

Camera System Shifts

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro are expected to share the same rear cameras, so the photography and videography experience should be just as spectacular on both phones. However, the newer 11 Pro ditches the 42MP 103-degree Dual PD AF selfie camera for a 13MP ultrawide lens instead. After the 48MP front camera on the Pixel 10 Pro, that would be an unpleasant surprise.

Memory and Battery Adjustments

It’s worth noting that the leaked battery figures for the Pixel 11 Pro (4,850mAh) and Pro XL (5,115mAh) are actually slightly smaller than what the Pixel 10 Pro carried. Google will likely count on the more efficient Tensor G6 chip and M16 display panel to compensate. Believe it or not, those specs actually contain at least one notable downgrade from the Pixel 10 Pro. Previously, Pixel Pro devices only came with 16GB RAM. So if Google is offering a 12GB variant, that would be a somewhat significant change. Every Pixel 10 Pro XL storage configuration includes 16GB, meaning buyers could pay $100 more for a Pixel 11 Pro XL with less memory.

Price Comparison and Storage Baselines

A price hike is expected, with European leaks pointing to roughly €100 (~$114) more than the Pixel 10 Pro. Base storage may be moving from 128 GB to 256 GB across the lineup. The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pro XL are all $100 more to start than they were a year ago. The Pixel 10 Pro might be turning a year old, but it could have some advantages over the Pixel 11 Pro. If rumors are true, you get the same display, camera, charging speed, and hardware specs with a bigger battery, more RAM for the base model, and a superior selfie camera.
