Dark Souls: Archthrones<\/strong> is an impressive Dark Souls 3 mod<\/strong> that acts as both an overhaul and a prequel to FromSoftware\u2019s RPG game, and the team now reveals that it\u2019s \u201cworking on a demo\u201d that should hopefully be available soon.<\/p>\n

Dark Souls 3 Archthrones Review Mod Is Getting A Demo<\/h2>\n

There are plenty of fantastic fan-made Dark Souls 3 mods<\/strong> out there, like the ones that change up boss fights or just round out game overhauls, but Archthrones<\/strong> is a bit different. The team describes it as an \u201cextensive\u201d review of the dark fantasy game. Locations are being \u201cbeautifully reimagined\u201d with new lighting and visuals, and there will also be boss encounter changesalso.<\/p>\n

In addition to being a revision, however, Archthrones also features \u201can alternate story set before the events\u201d of Dark Souls 3<\/strong>, with this prequel story set \u201cin five unique worlds, each accessed through the Nexus of Embers\u201d. apparently it has been in development for two years, and also contains new NPCs, enemies, and even bosses. The team even seems to be deliberately making the new areas more like the style of Dark Souls<\/strong>\u2019 precursor Demon\u2019s Souls<\/strong>, which is great since that game isn\u2019t on PC yet.<\/p>\n

While the team has a Patreon, Archthrones<\/strong> will be \u201c100% free\u201d when it launches, though you\u2019ll need Dark Souls 3<\/strong>, of course, and all of its downloadable content. As for the demo, it is not yet known what it will include, although it is it\u2019s supposed to be \u201csort of like an alpha\u201d \u2013 and the mod team doesn\u2019t have a release date yet, but says \u201cthings are progressing well\u201d.<\/p>\n
