Hammer’s first leading role was as Billy Graham in the 2008 film Billy: The Early Years, and he gained wider recognition for his portrayal of the twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in David Fincher’s biographical drama film The Social Network (2010). He won the Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Hammer portrayed Clyde Tolson in the biopic J. Edgar (2011). He played the title character in the western The Lone Ranger (2013). On Broadway, he starred in a production of Straight White Men in 2018.

The rape allegations against Armie Hammer

In 2021, claims of sexual abuse and cannibalistic fetishism were made against Hammer. They were ncluding allegations of nonconsensual BDSM, rape, and physical and emotional abuse. Hammer denied the allegations, calling them an “online attack”. He later abandoned several future projects . He also was dropped by his acting agency and publicist.

Armie Hammer Accused of Rape

He checked into the facility after a woman accused him of “violently” raping her for more than four hours. Also for committing “other acts of violence” against her.

A former lover, identified only as Effie, claimed Hammer “mentally, emotionally and sexually abused her during their four-year relationship,”, adding he reportedly left a series of disturbing messages with other female partners.

Hammer’s career fell apart swiftly starting in early January after an Instagram account, @houseofeffie, began publishing messages, allegedly from the actor, in which he detailed kinky sexual fantasies including rape, cannibalism and other violent acts.

In January of this year, an anonymous account also posted purported screenshots on social media of messages in which Hammer detailed fantasies including drinking blood, sexual domination, and acts of cannibalism, Insider reported.

Hammer’s Sexual Abuse and Assault Allegations

The controversy surrounding Hammer began in January when alleged text messages between him and several women surfaced online. The unverified missives detailed the actor’s disturbing fantasies, including rape and cannibalism.

Then two ex-girlfriends, Courtney Vucekovich and Paige Lorenze, spoke out in a similar vein about their alleged treatment by “The Social Network” actor.

One message read: ‘I want to eat you…I am 100% a cannibal,’ with others showing disturbing talk of eating a woman’s ribs and cutting off their toes.

  • Those messages were never proven to have been sent by Hammer and no legal action was taken.

“I’m not responding to these bulls—t claims, but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” the California native told TMZ in January. “Lionsgate is supporting me in this, and I’m grateful to them for that.”

The Golden Globe nominee entered a Florida rehab center on May 31 to undergo treatment for drug, alcohol and sex issues, according to a report at the time from Vanity Fair. An eyewitness saw Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, drop him off at the Grand Cayman airport to leave the Cayman Islands, where he had been staying.
